Hey guys, so from anyone who may have some idea.

Was sent documents from the consulate advising they had received my file from the NVC and telling me of the next few steps. I was already given a tentative interview date through email, and have already completed my medical so these "steps" are a tad confusing.

Firstly I already completed a Police Clearance form, which was sent to the NVC which i now surmise is back with the Auckland Consulate since their letter states they have my file from the NVC. So it kinda begs the question why have they requested another one from me?

They've also asked in this letter for certified copies or originals of my I-864 forms, so the Consulate can review them, yet wouldn't they also have these already too since they have my "file from the NVC".

I kept all copies of anything ever submitted to either the USCIS or the NVC, but these are just copies not certified. Are they asking me to get my sponsor in America to redo another form and resend it to me so I can send it to the consulate?

This seems like so much double handling. :/

Thanks for any input. Kel & John

Hmm. Generally, you do not need to bring any original documents that you already sent to the NVC. Always bring copies of everything, just in case. I was told in an email to bring originals which I hadn't already submitted to the NVC. There shouldn't be a need if you sent it them to the NVC already. When I was at my interview, I saw them going through my file, and every paper ever submitted to both the USCIS and the NVC was there. I'd email the IV unit at your consulate to make sure.

PS. I was asked at the interview for my wife's tax return transcript. I told them to look through the file again as she had sent it to the NVC, and the CO said "aah, nevermind, found it."

Well I know for us in Nigeria our police certificate only good 3 months so many of us have expired. That may be why., You sure there's no missing country . And if you have the originals in your package the copies should be fine. I doubt they will ask. Seems thats their standard sentence to people

I suspect if you read the instructions again carefully, you'll find something to the effect that you bring these originals if they were NOT already sent to NVC.

You always manage to chime in with something that questions my intellect. I'm a varsity grad I am no fool. The letter I have is from the person my husband and I have been dealing with at the consulate since well before our process officially began. It is not a "standardized" letter sent off to all. The only reason I came to vj with the question is the consulate was closed for the weekend and I couldn't query it directly with the person who hand scribed this portion of the letter.

As a footnote and FYI I have now spoken with the lady who is handling our case who clarified the reason she requested I resend documents to them for review is because they requested our file from the NVC early, as a subsequence to doing that it seems the consulate are missing vital forms.

If I can make a personal request if you see anything I have posted (whether you feel it dopey or not) can you avoid the urge to impart your condescending 2 cents. I'd rather no help than the kind you keep giving.

I just answer posts. I doubt I'll remember who you are tomorrow. No need to get snippy. Apparently, yours is a unique circumstance. Otherwise, the phrase I mentioned would have been found. Nothing personal.
