I'm finally about to send my packet down to the states to have a check put in it and I was wondering if I need to put a description about how we met anywhere in there. We've been married for 2 years, so I'm not entirely sure they're so interested in that at this point? I also just want to make sure I didn't miss anything or include something that shouldn't be as I was following a sample cover letter from a K1 visa I think. This is what I have:

• Cover Letter

• (Insert Big fat check here)

• I-130 Petition with a supplement attached to it to further explain a question

• Copy of all passport pages

• Copy of drivers license (this is the one I don't know if I need. The cover letter said something about proof of permanent residency in the US? Is this sufficient or even necessary?)

• Marriage Cert

• G-325 Petitioner with photos attached to back and explanation of my work address changing in december

• G-325 Beneficiary with photos attached to back

• Loads of proof that they probably won't even care about including photos (which stupid staples did a poor job printing but whatever) taxes, beneficiary designation, bank account, lease

• G-1145 (does this get sent now?)

Finally, my last question and I hope to GOD this isn't a problem because I don't have money to fix it.

1- Canadian passport pictures are a little taller than 2"

2- She stamped the back of both of them with this approval thing and the date

marriage cert - just need a photocopy with I-130 submittal.

any prior divorces on either you ? need a photocopy of the certified copy (showing stamp or seal)

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

It is a photocopy, and no.

In fact, as we were signing the paperwork I said to my husband THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE TO TELL ME YOUVE EVER BEEN MARRIED BEFORE! and he said he hadn't so I think we're good!

The size of the passport photos is not critical now but will be at the NVC stage. He'll need half a dozen new ones in the correct size for the medical and interview.

AH! Seriously?! These things are fricking expensive!

Do they have to actually be dated on the back?

I don't remember them doing that in the states when they took mine, but they stamped them here.

I know they have to be taken w/in 30 days of sending in, but they are so much cheaper in the states... would rather stock up at christmas time -_-

You won't need them before Christmas and they don't need to be stamped with any dates.

Oh i know that. we are just both going down to the states for christmas so I figured I could have him take some then and save a little cash. but then when I need them in like april/may/june whatever, they will not be 30 days old... but if no one needs to stamp them, how would they know anyways. my husband is 32, he's not going to look any different 6/7/8 months from then

I guess this is the only thing that hasn't been answered yet:

• Copy of drivers license (this is the one I don't know if I need. The cover letter said something about proof of permanent residency in the US? Is this sufficient or even necessary?)

You do not need to prove permanent residency. That's for a non-citizen. Later, at NVC, you'll show evidence of current US domicile. The driver license will help then.
