November I-130 Filers

So i called USCIS and spoke to a tier 2 agent and they said that my I130 is at the local office which would be in DC (does anyone know of the timeline for that area) and they will call me for an interview! in 5-6 months awesome.. arghh the agony of waiting sucks.Woohoo!! lol at least i heard some news you know. but patiently waiting so un-patiently and i am the petitioner. I thought the petitioner does not get and interview only the the person i am petitioning for??

With the local offices, sometimes a petitioner gets an interview. If it is in fact the case for you it will be very painless and probably involve a few questions and bringing some paperwork. They'll let you know.

Thank you and thats great cause my husband was stressing a lot out the interview, do they tell you exactly what you should bring to the interview, so perhaps i can start preparing for it now.

this makes me wonder as to why some of you guys are going for interviews at your respective local field offices.

are some of you been married for less than two years? did you present other evidence besides the basic requirements USCIS has asked?

my wife and i have been married over two years (it will be three this august 8) and the US Veterans Affairs (another US government agency) recognizes her as my wife which is probably why i didn't get called in for a interview.

honestly, i just gave a certified copy of our marriage certificate, paperworks from the US Veterans Affairs stating they recognize her as my wife, and a copy of our US Dollar bank account in the Philippines. nothing else...I even lived in the Philippines from March 2011 'til October of last year.

please chime in cause like i said, i am curious as to how many of you have been married within the last two years have been told you have an interview at your respective local field offices. also if you've been married for more than two years and told you have to go in for an interview.

Well as for me i don't know if have an interview yet but i have only been married for 6months and 4 days and well i don't think i gave the right certificate for marriage because i gave the one the church had handed to me and i am pretty sure they ask for more evidence but i provided a lot of proof for bonafide marriage so i think i should be fine with that. But i don't know.

Me and my hubby have been married for 5 years. My hubby was interviewed in the local field office and was approved on the same day.

The USCIS is in the process of making a universal manual, but, it's still in process and only the naturalization section is completed. So while there was an old "USCIS field office adjudicating manual" it is quite old and not what the CSC or VSC would ever use. Most of them are probably a little blindsided with what's going on and just dug out the old manual.

Who do I trust?

So of course, like many of you, check my i130 spouse case status daily. And I have also called in twice to talk to Tier 2. Both times, Tier 2 has stated my case was transferred to a local office. When I ask what office, they put me on hold, come back and say San Francisco (which is the office near my address on page 1 of the i130).

Today, I called again. Don't ask why, just am obsessed with this and was hoping for some new info. I spoke to Customer Service Person (first person to answer phone). I asked where my papers were and expected to be transferred to Tier 2. She put me on hold and told me "i can access that for you". She came back and said Vermont. I explained I had been told San Francisco. She was insistent it was in Vermont, because Vermont does the I130 spouse petitions. I grilled her and she said she was positive it was in Vermont.

So the question is: who is right? Does Tier 2 just enter my zip code and tell me San Francisco because that is where it they assume it should be? Or was the Tier 1 person just trying to show off and give me what is essentially generic info but represent it as specific to my case?

Uggh! Not that it matters of course, either way we are just sitting here waiting but the different answers is killing me.

If you stopped calling you would stop receiving conflicting answers. If you honestly don't have a problem, why are you calling? We didn't call once. I have no idea if the case was in Denver or not. Yes it drove me a little bananas because I didn't know what was happening but I'm not the petitioner so it was probably best.
