May I submit black and white photocopies of my passport pages or should they be in color? I'm also sending photocopies of my birth certificate. Same question... color or black and white? And I know I have to mail the originals to my fiance for the interview of any document I photocopied. I'm ok sending a certified copy of my birth certificate because I've ordered more. But send my passport !!!????? I know I dont have to send both but my passport shows I have traveled to other countres besides the country where my fiance lives.

The purpose of sending all pages of your passport or a copy of your birth certificate is to establish your US Citizenship. You only need to submit one, not both.

If you submit a copy of all pages of your passport (black and white is acceptable), then you don't need to send a copy of your birth certificate.

The reverse is also true, if you send a copy of your birth certificate, you don't need to send a copy of all pages of your passport.

Thank you. That's why I want to include the birth cert because I don't want to send my actual passport but was asking just to make sure. And now I also know that black and white copies are ok. But the passport pages that are stamped I'm doing in color because I want them to see it very well. Thanks again.

Hi! black and white photocopies will do both from your passport and birth certificate. Yes you need to send the originals receipts, hotel tickets, etc. but you dont need to send ur original passport just a photocopy of it with all the stamped pages when you last visited her. Hope that helps :)

I know for our Packet 3 they wanted ALL pages of my passport. Also, B & W make some of the stamps difficult to read. So, why not make color copies of all pages, and front and back, of your passport that way you'll have them later too.

If you are the US citizen you only need to send copies of all the pages in your passport you dont need to send your birth certificate at all and it can be in black and white. All it is doing is proving your are a citizen. If you are the beneficiary you will need to send a copy of the bio page of your passport and a certified long copy of your birth certificate. But you will never have to mail them your original passport ever....

Not true about sending the original receipts. You can send copies of all of your proof (ticket stubs, boarding passes, etc.) with the I-129f petition. However, you may need to send originals if they ask to see them.

I did color copies of both, because it was easier to read. Copies of receipts work fine. If USCIS turns around and asks for an original then comply.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.
