some questions about NVC timeline

Hi there

I just hung up the phone with NVC to find out if they got my NOA2 from USCIS and they told me that they just got it and I have to call them after 20 days,

I am just wondering if any VJyers, who went through the same process, got their case number within a week or two?

other questions, once I case number is assigned, what would be the next step? at the end of the process, do I have to send all the original documents to the NVC?

The case# usually is a 7 to 14 day process. They seem to be a bit faster (Took me 17 days). Just keep calling But do read the Post #1 and Post 2 on the NVC filers thread here.

Here go read while you are waiting aboyt the NVC process to gather up all you need if you haven't yet.

we got the case number in 12 days after the NOA2 (CR1 visa)

Hi Kouky

Based on your experience, I have few questions for you

1. once case number is assigned, I am gonna pay required bills online ? I think there are two more forms to be signed by the beneficiery, Is it gonna be submitted electronically or print and mail it?

2. when i reach the stage of collecting civil documents, I, as a USC petitioner, what docuemtns are required ? i.e. original certificate of citizenship, birth certificate ...or any other documents?

3. How about police certificate ? should I have my wife in morocco start processning the police certificate now? does it have to be subitted at the consulate or to the NVC?

I look 4ward to hear from you.

hii,

congrats fro the approval .

first my immigration status is(CR1), so it might be there some diffrences.

back to your questions:

1.yes , once the case number is assigned, you will receive an email to pay AOS FEE (and of course online ).

and yes , there is 2 forms should be completed and signed by the beneficiary(1 should be sent with the AOS PACKAGE(DS-3032 form) ,and the second will be sent with IV PACKAGE(DS-230 form).). i sent them both via snail mail.(only 4 days to get to usa).(morocco dsnt belong to electronic processing).

2.once you paid the AOS FEE , better to start preparing civil documents to be ready, but not before the AOS FEE is paid because the validity of the civil documents is just 3 months.

-police certificate(translated )

-court record (assijl alaadly)(translated )

-birth certificate(translated )

3.your case now is in NVC , so all the documents should be sent to NVC, NOT consulate!

hope that help.

visit more forums , you can get more information.

Thank you for your response

As for me at the beginning, I filed for both I-130 and K-3, but when the K-3 visa took longer, i withdrew it and stick with I-130.

the last question is : how about from my end, do I have to send my birth certificate and certificate of citizenship together with the rest of the documents? If so, are they (NVC) gonna mail it back to me or send it the US consulagt in Casa?

Once NVC process is completed, do you know how long does it take till the appointment date?

Once again thank u for the info

give them 10-12 business days, meanwhile get your docs ready to send. From now on, its all in ur hands, the sooner you send in required documents, the sooner they will process your case (my own experience).. considering the amount of applications they get, i give it to them for being so fast

They told me our case was in "administrative processing" at the NVC and there was no time frame associated with that (even though they don't do extensive administrative reviews at this stage of the game). Even with that said, our case passed through NVC and was received by the consulate within 2 weeks. Hope this helps.

I got 2 e-mails from NVC today. The first one about the DS-3032 with NVC case number and the other one is about the I-864 fee. I did make the payment online and payment is currently under process. At the same time, I e-mailed the DS-3032 form online but with no signature from the beneficiary( my wife) and no barcode as per VJ link http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Email_DS-3032_form.

My question is about the I-864 (affidavit of support)for I-130, Do I have to wait till the AOS payment is processed and look for the form online and fill it up and mail it (by snail mail) or do I have to wait till NVC cash my payment first and show "PAID" under my account login and they (NVC) will e-mail me the link to I-864 form?

What civil documents should I start gathering? (from my end, as a petitioner and from my wife as a beneficiery?)

How about form Ds-230, should I have my wife prepare it now or wait till they me one which comes with a bar-code?

Please help!!!!!!!
