That's assuming you are applying for a k-3.

So those are the forms you'll need to file once you get your k-3, and enter the US.

Way to early for someone who just sent a I-129F petition (K-1 route).

I guess you're misleading with the spousal route you are on. Those documents will be needed in a long time, after OP will have his/her visa, be married and in the US. He/she is at the very very beginning right now. :)

OP, you have a long wait ahead of you, about 5 months with no news on your case. It's too early to gather documents for the next stage now, but it's still good to be aware of what to do then. Look at those links:

It's entirely too early to work on the Adjustment of Status, EAD, and AP for a K-1. That won't happen until after the petition is approved, the beneficiary is interviewed and has the visa, enters the U.S., and is married to the petitioner.

OP, get acquainted with people who have been through the consulate where your fiancé will be interviewed. Read through the VJ guides to see what's next in the process. And most importantly, realize that you'll need some patience to get through the process, so there will be quite a bit of time where nothing will happen. Good luck!

Go back to vj k1 visa guide.much of what you are asking is there. Also u will need the 134 affidavit of support form before you need the aos one. Read the guide carefully. Also look at the flow chart. You can print off the forms that are needed at the interview so you can see what documents you might need. Continue to save call records, chats, emails.

The K-3 is an obsolete visa. I know you mean well, but please, if you don't know about the K-1 process, it's okay to sit it out.

We had initially applied for an I-129f. When our I-129f was approved, our lawyer advised us to begin prep-work on the forms I mentioned.

Since then, our I-130 petition got approved and has therefore closed our I-129f case. This is why we are now on the CR-1 track.

My apologies for the misinformation. Good thing we didn't stay on that track, or our lawyer would have led us astray!

Well wishes, everyone!

Our I-129F was sent on 10/22 what is next? Where can I go to find the other documents I should be gathering so there are no delays?

Once your I-129F application is approved (give it 6 mons from CSC and roughly 9 mons for VSC), here are the required forms. These info are off the Haiti Embassy Info: http://www.visajourney.com/consulates/index.php?ctry=Haiti&cty=Port-au-Prince

Prior to packet 3, Consulate issues a 3.5 packet to alien spouse to complete. All requested documents from this packet must be submitted before packet 3.0 can be sent out by the Consulate. (K-1 applicants should submit the DS-230,DS-156, DS-156K (DS-156K is to be signed in front of the consulate @ the interview) and DS-157. In an effort to increase the percentage of applicants who have the necessary documents at the time of the interview and to decrease the waiting time, the Consular Section in Port-au-Prince has developed the Packet 3.5 system to pre-screen applicants. As soon we receive a Packet 3 from the NVC, the Consular Section mails the applicant a Packet 3.5. The Packet 3.5 contains a list of documents that the applicant must present at the time of the interview. The instructions direct the applicant to assemble the documents and deposit them at a local courier service (Haiti Messenger). For a small fee, payable by the applicant, the service assembles a packet for each applicant and delivers the packets to the Consular Section daily.

The Consular Section screens each packet for completeness. If the applicant has included all necessary documents, the Consular Section returns a sealed packet to the courier service with a label informing the applicant when to return for their interview, usually within 2 weeks. If the packet is incomplete, the applicant will be asked to gather the missing documents and return for an interview at a later date, usually within 2 months. This system allows the Consular Section to schedule immediately applicants who are ready for an interview and notify other applicants of the additional documents that they must obtain before their interview.

Good luck!!
