Hi VJ members,,,please i need your little help...i have been married to a US woman for about 3 yrs now and we filed for CR1...now its as been about 1 and half year since my CR1 was approved and sent to NVC and i paid my AOS and now remaining the IV fee,am i going to have a problem if i dont complete my process with NVC???i need help please....

When was the last time you called NVC? You must have had contact within within a year of when they received your case otherwise they will close it. So I pray it hasn't been 1 1/2 years since you called them. But call them anyway. Is yoru IV bill processs done and you waiting for case complete all this time or whats happening here?

"If a period of one year passes without contacting the NVC (by e-mail, telephone, or mail), all submitted fees and documents will expire. Upon expiration, the fees and documents would need to be resubmitted in order to continue the immigration process."

You've got good answers in that you won't have any problem unless you fail to respond to NVC for more than a year. However, you are on track for an IR1 visa, not CR1. CR1 is for people married less than two years.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

after studying yer timeline, I say you have a problem.

But to be certain it's a problem,

call into NVC, get a Human, and inquire for casefile status.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
