I submitted my paperwork in February and didn't hear another peep after my biometrics appointment. My case sat on standstill in the CSC, so I called them and requested information about a month ago. They said they would get back to me before or around 15 days from that date. I waited and didn't hear anything, just as I'm about to call back and begin poking them my husband gets an email notification of our case being updated. He checks the site and finds that our case is being looked at but they have sent us an RFE.

I called the 1-800-375-5283 number today to see if I could get any additional information, but was told they didn't have access to that. So I'm to sit and wait up to two weeks wondering what the hell it is they need from us now.

I was informed that they take 15 days to get the RFE letter to you, but what they request from you dictates the amount of time you have to collect the evidence.

What kind of things would they require? I checked, double checked and triple checked my paperwork. It was all signed correctly, the marriage certificate was the original copy, my medical from the K1 process was still within a year (it expired this August just gone), I'm out of ideas.

I'm worried sick about this, but my husband tells me not to worry, it's my natural disposition to be concerned about pretty much everything.

I guess this is just a rant to get it off my chest... I don't know :(

Unfortunately you will have to wait until you receive the RFE to know exactly what they need from you. It could be anything. In our case, we were requested, by the National Benefits Center, to send the tax returns of 2011 what we sent back right away (after calling my husband accountant to work on that asap). Unfortunately that RFE is what they used to send the case to CSC for "speed up" the process  Usually they give you a wide range of time to send back the document requested so do not worry too much.

I checked your timeline and it says your case was transferred to CSC which its not the best news as that center is behind in processing time, in other words they are delayed (this was confirmed to me by the USCIS lady I talked to at my info pass appointment 1 weeks ago). Follow exactly what the RFE says. My RFE was a pink letter (like if I could forget that!). I believe once you send them what they requested (and if all is ok with that) they should be approving your GC (unless they want to schedule an interview).

I know someone that filed in January 2012 and her case was transferred to CSC in February and had her GC approved recently in the first days of October.

Hope you get the RFE soon so you can start working on getting your stuffs together and get your GC approved  Good luck!

If you think you did everything correctly, it may be something that is not your fault, like they lost some of you documents, or your medical documents has not been transferred correctly (and you would have to do a whole new medical). It happens, but it's better not to make assumptions too early but wait for the RFE hardcopy in the mail. Don't worry too much, a RFE is not a denial. :)
