Interesting: CSC Processing Dates Do Not Reflect I-485s for K-1s Adjusting Status

Out of sheer boredom, I was clicking through some USCIS processing times, and noticed that the USCIS processing times for CSCs do NOT list I-485 applications transferred for K-1s (I think it's still only K-1s, right?) from DOs with their processing times.

Any idea why this might be? Or are the I-485s listed for CSC actually inclusive of ALL the I-485s they're processing?

I haven't quite figured out the AOS part yet , all I know is that I'll file to Chicago and eventually it will end up in San Antonio (I think ).

No...let me clarify.

CSC started processing I-485s for (as far as we know) K-1 AOS applicants. But if you look at CSC's processing times as listed on USCIS.gov, they don't include the I-485s they're processing for K-1 AOS applicants. The processing times only list employment-based I-485 applicants.

So what does this mean? I don't know if it means anything at all. I don't know if it means that the processing times listed actually do include all the I-485s that CSC is processing, or if the I-485 processing in California is happening on some kind of pilot/temporary/unofficial basis, or if it means something else...or anything at all.

AOS applicants who were transferred to CSC as part of the backlog reduction program are not reflected in the processing dates posted on the USCIS website. Since the transfers are just part of a temporary program, it is not worth the cost and effort to change their system to show timelines for transferees.

That is why we took the initiative to put a list together to track the timelines of VJers who were transferred.

Perhaps because the processing dates indicate when a case has been taken off the shelf and processing has begun, and this event takes place at wherever the case was sent to the CSC from? (The I-485 cases are sent to the CSC when a case officer has taken a look at them and believes they can be processed without interview). So there may not be any one date for these cases that are in processing at the CSC?

Or maybe the CSC puts the cases it receives into processing immediately on receipt, so processing date is a moot issue for those cases?

Is it sad that I'm almost looking forward to the next round of paperwork, just so we can get it out of the way instead of dreading it for almost 6 months?
