Lane: I'm really going to set you back here. Probably the biggest turn we ever made was when the women got the right to vote.

#What do you mean?

#Lane: Our country might have been better off if it was still just men voting. There is nothing worse than a bunch of mean, hateful women. They are diabolical in how than can skewer a person. I do not see that in men. The whole time I worked, I'd much rather have a male boss than a female boss. Double-minded, you never can trust them.

I have a dear, dear friend back in Britain -- very clever, a wicked writer, Oxford-educated, thrower of fantastic dinner parties -- who agrees with this. We once argued until 4am about this very topic. It may have been an excuse, though, for some bourgie twits on both sides of the political divide to drink whiskey and port until 4am.

You'd be surprised how many women agree with this.

It's an individual thing really though. There are men who shouldn't be able to vote just as there are women.

It's individuals who lack the ability of logical reasoning in a situation, or who act on raw emotion in the way they treat everything in their lives.

...say the 'constitutionalist.'

and if you knew anything then you'd know that only property owners used to be the only ones who could vote.

It's taken amendments to change the voting laws over the years.

Listen, I want to be able to work only if my employers are flexible with their hours so that I can make sure to be home to put supper on the table and see my kids home from school.
