Hi everyone,

Has anyone ever experienced the shipment from NVC to the Embassy taking longer than 2 weeks? That's the case with our K-1 packet. I checked with the Madrid Embassy several times and they have not received it, but when I talked to the NVC before they said they had sent it out Sept. 26th.

On many occasions I have had mail never arrive in Spain, and I'm sooo afraid that this is a bad sign. I called DHL and asked if they could track the shipment (but I don't have the shipment number, only the two zipcodes and the day it was supposedly sent). The lady on the phone couldn't find anything in the system and she just said that shipments from NVC to Madrid usually take only two days and then added "well something's majorly wrong here, they probably lost it". Just like that with a "well, it's not my problem" type of attitude. I have been desperately trying to call NVC and of course the line is always busy :(:(

My heart is breaking right now just thinking that one person's possible mistake could affect all of our lives so much and keep us from being together. This is horrible just being in this waiting game and never knowing what is going on. I just miss my fiance so much, we were so excited when we got the NOA2 and it feels like we are so close after all this time, but little things like this just make me feel so much despair and frustration.

I just want to say thank you again for this amazing community of people on this site. The amount of support we have gotten from each other is incredible and it feels better knowing that we are all in the same situation and understand each other. I haven't been able to talk to my family or friends or anybody about this whole process because no one else understands what it's like!!!

Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can find out where this package is, just to have some peace of mind? Has anyone else had it take over 2 weeks to get sent from NVC to the Embassy, maybe this is normal regardless of what that lady on the phone said? Any way I can find out the tracking number and call DHL back to ask a different person? THANK YOU!

You need to call NVC. Sometimes petitions are taken aside, and put into AP. We were held up there, back a few years ago for nearly 8 weeks. Call them and ask.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Well they ought to know when they say they sent it. Did you speak to a Tier 2 person? The phone drones that answer read from a script and don't know anything useful. We asked for tier 2, and asked directly were we in AP. Even though they had sent us 3 letters to say it had been sent on, it hadn't been.

This is a good idea... I will try calling them again now. Thank you!!!

I called back and she said there is no Tier 2 Manager to connect me to... what???! She said someone may be able to call me back but it's not guaranteed when that will be. Great :bonk:

All I want is the tracking number to see where this package is. I'm starting to get really nervous. Is there any way I can track something DHL without a tracking number??

Hi, ours arrived in 20 days.. Dont worry.. Try tracking your docs on DHL.. Go to DHL website.. Then look for track for shippers reference then type.. Reference ID.. EXP 26 SEP 2012A.. ( date docs left NVC) then, adjust the date to sept 24-28, country SPAIN... You will see if a parcel delivered or recieved.. It doesnt have your name or tracking number but it might be yours.. So you will be aware that time to time embassy had recieved something from NVC.. But they will not answer your directly. And you' ll be surprised one day. GoodLuck!

Hi,

Ours took a week to arrive to Madrid from NVC. But mail here doesn't always work great as you say yourself.

The first packet 3 the embassy sent me (Madrid to Barcelona) never arrived. We had to ask them to send it again and the second time I finally receive it. Keep calling the embassy and the NVC (or emailing), that is what I would do, until someone helps you. Good luck!
