Hi everyone

My fiance is self employed . The last tax return is over the requirement but those of 2010 and 20o9 are low of the poverty guidelines.

His current income is also good no problem

Im confused about what he must provide exactly ? And if we need a joint sponsor un our case or not ?

Thank u

I agree with Celeste.

OP:Are you speaking about I-134 or I-864? It seems that most interviewing consulates use I-134, with an eye on the poverty guidelines of I-864.

Im so confused and I want your advice .

My fiance is self employed , what shoud he put in current income ? and for the tax returns , we must put the total income in W2s or 1040 ?

Another question plz , My fiance hasn't enough income for the latest years 2010 and 2009 , but a good one in 2011 , do we need a joint sponsor ?

Im speaking about I864

Providing the country of the beneficiary will help us help you. As I said before, not all countries accept co-sponsors.

The USEMs care mostly about CURRENT income.

EDIT: Also, you are speaking of the i-864; but for the Evidence of Support provided at the interview stage, the I-134 is used instead.

For a K-1 visa interview, your fiance will fill out an I-134, not an I-864. He only needs to provide his most recent tax return. For the self-employed, they will go by line 22 of the most recent 1040 from 2011. If he has enough listed on that line to meet the 125% requirement, then that should do it. He can also provide any documentation he has about his current ongoing income, but they will use line 22 of the 1040 form from 2011 to see if he meets the income requirement. He needs to provide a complete copy of his return, ALL the forms, schedules, attachments, W-2s and 1099s. Those that are self-employed do not typically have W-2s though.
