Hi VJers thanks for coming in! :)

So...me and my fiance(American citizen)just filed our K1 petition the beginning of this September. There's a question just popped upon my mind today. Please help me! i am kinda worried...

I once have applied for B2 visa in June 2011, because I wanted to visit my boyfriend(at moment, not engaged yet) in Cali. And it got approved, was easy and very smooth. but the thing is I didn't tell the CO at the interview that my purpose to enter U.S. was visiting my boyfriend, instead, I said I was just gonna go on a 2 week trip in Cali alone. I got my visa in no time and have traveled to the states twice since then(2 week short each time)to visit the love of my life. Told the officers at the POE exactly the same as what i told the CO, everything went so smoothly but I just didn't mention any info about my boyfriend.

He proposed to me in LA when I was on the 2nd visit, we got engaged, I returned home and a few months later we filed K1 this Sep.(attached a few pics that we took together when i was in the states)

so what im worried about is, will it be an issue? will it influence our K1? what should I say if I get questioned in the future interviews?

has anyone ever been through this? please help! thanks in advance!!

good luck to yall!

I don;t think it will be an issue, as you did not overstay or otherwise use your tourist visa illegally. They may not even have that info on their files.

I went to SF twice, before we filled K1, on a tourist visa (esta). I never told at the POE I was visiting my boyfriend.

We applied then in July and at the end of the same month I went to SF one more time as tourist. At the POE the officer asked me if it was the first time for me in SF and I replied it was the 3rd in the last year. So, he asked me why I traveled so many times and, this time, I told that was because of my boyfriend. He asked few questions about my boyfriend and his family (such as which his job was, where he lived, etc) and then nothing more. He let me in.

So,don't worry, if they have had any file with my previous reasons of entry, they would ask me me something, I think!

Welcome to the forum. Ni hao.

You will likely have no problems. Always tell the truth.

Consider checking out the China regional forum as things progress on your visa petition.

Good luck.

I didn't tell completely truth the consequence is what I'm worried bout in this case...

But thank u all! It seems like not really a relevant problem.

But you didn't lie either. From my point of view, it wasn't any of their business before since you didn't know at the time that you were going to be marrying this guy. It's probably not in your file that you said you were there just for tourism. They don't write stuff down that you omit. :) Don't worry.
