Hey all, I got a text on 08/23 that I got an RFE. The letter was supposedly sent on 08/23 as well. I never got this letter. I called USCIS after 1 week, and they told me to wait 15 days and call back. I called back on the 15th day, and they "re-sent" the letter on Friday 09/07. The mailman has been today, and I STILL have not yet received ANY letter. It does not take a full week to send a letter from CA to the midwest where I live. Whenever I call, no one can explain to me what the RFE is about, nor confirm my address.

I am so frustrated because I know there is a deadline for the RFE, and it could be that my husband will need to send documents from France. I really do not want to miss the deadline because of this delay.

It has so far been 23 days... and yet still no RFE letter.

Is this normal???? What else can I do????

You should schedule an Infopass appointment at your local office at the earliest opportunity and explain to them that you have not received any of the RFEs that have been issued for your case.

I am on the Infopass website, but my only options are:

Order from Immigration Court - If you were directed to us for processing based on an order from the Immigration Judge. You must bring all documents required in the post order instructions given to you by the court.

Case Processing Appointment - If you received a notice to go to your local office for further case processing.

EAD inquiry appointment - If your I-765 employment authorization application has been pending for more than 90 days.

Case Services follow-up appointment - If it has been over 45 days since you contacted NCSC and have not received a response to your inquiry. You must bring the Service Request ID Number related to your inquiry to the appointment.

Really, my case doesn't match any of those, but I am thinking about doing "Case Processing Appointment" because that would be the best category. I was also told on the phone that to confirm my address I would have to make an InfoPass appointment, so maybe they could give me some info about my RFE. It is a good 45 mins from where I live, so I don't want to get there and have them tell me they can't do anything, and USCIS is closed on the weekend so I can't call.

I'm on the same boat like you. Got the text sent to my phone, but still have not got the letter in hand which was sent on September 6. Making me worried what if I don't get the letter before the response time specified in the letter expires? Called USCIS, they can not tell the content of the letter. Will The InfoPass appointment be able to tell what has been requested in the RFE?

Well my update is .... not much news. I finally went to my InfoPass appointment and unfortunately since my case is in CSC, they do not have any information other than what is shown in the computer when you call USCIS. HOWEVER if your case is in Vermont or the Texas Service centers, they do have internal numbers to call to find out what the hold up is. CA does not have an internal number.

I would recommend that anyone who has this problem writes a letter and send it via registered mail explaining the problem and keep track of everytime you call (note badge # or the person you talk to, name, date, time of call, results, etc)and keep a paper trail. That way if they come back and say it's past the RFE due date, then you have proof that you tried getting ahold of them to get the RFE. That is what I was told by the officer at the Info Pass appointment.

They also opened a "service request" to have the RFE resent. The service request was opened 09/20 and I just got a letter yesterday stating that they will resend the RFE and to allow 14 days for the receipt. It has been 12 days, so let's see if it comes within the next 2 days as promised.

I have an appointment with a lawyer next week. I'm not going to hold my breath for the letter to come in the meantime.

Best of luck!
