Is it possible for a consular officer ask me and my fiancé for a DNA test, well me and My fiancé had an interview, we show up at the ambassy on time. We wait there for like 2 hrs, when they actually called us. The officer asked us every question you could think of. Had my fiancé sign everything, and then look at us and our pics that we had, I am talking tons of pics. She told us that she can't issue us the visa, because me and my fiancé look like we are related. She just rip all the paper that my fiancé already signed and then trash them with a anger, me and her cry just for one reason, just because she just looked at us and discriminate us, by saying that we look like Familly members. Which mean, I am having sex with one of my Familly members. She said we have to take a DNA test to show that we are not related ( lol ). Or if we refused she will terminated the case. We agreed to take the test, and now the test done they take so long to schedule us for an interview. Does anybody has any clue of what's going on?

Im sorry to say this.. But that totally sucks... I think the consul doesn't know what shes doing... And from my point of view thats discrimination I hope she tried to look at your papers first before she ripped the papers :( if you guys are related to each other thats incest already and I don't think anyone will do that especially if they trying to get in the US... I hope everything goes well after the DNA and you guys could get your interview..

DNA test is already done, and it's prove me and her have are unrelated. Full sibship index is 0.001 and and the half sibship index is 0.412. And also said its unlikely to see me and her are related.. Well I can't complain I only hope the officer still feeling good for what she did. May god bless her heart!

While her request for a DNA sounds a little extreme, she requested it and gave the reasons for it.

Now that you got it done, and can prove her wrong, everything should continue as expected because you complied with the ONE thing she asked for.

I hope you can get an interview soon so you can continue with your visa journey.

Don't get discouraged! good.gifIt's almost over

I've read that it's actually not totally uncommon for relatives to do K-1 visas in order to bring family members over, since it's an easier visa to get. Messed up, I know. And it's unfortunate that all of us have to deal with rules put in place because other people screwed it up.

On the other hand, they are doing their job (*gulp*). I pray we don't have problems, but it's difficult to see how frustrating their job can be too. I wonder, if something shows up later as fraud, does the interviewing officer get in trouble?
