I still havn't sent the iv package, just waiting for my husband to fill out the ds230 form and sign it. Mail from nigeria is so slow. We pray we make the deadline to get the iv package in on time to get an october interview in lagos.

I'm sure if you are anxious, you can fill out the DS230 form yourself. You might search your things and find that he has already signed it somehow! ;)

Well NVC told me they do not send our petitions to the embassy until we are assigned an interview date.

But how can we get an interview date if the embassy does not know that we are ready for an interview?

Ohhhhh my Lord....I become more confused everyday. :crying:

Its all a MYSTERY

Philippians 4 vs 6-7

It's funny.....on the Manila Embassy website it says...."When NVC is finished processing an Immigrant Visa Petition, the petition is then sent to the embassy where it will wait for an interview date to be scheduled".

I BEG YOUR PARDON.....?????

LOL now stop it now. I am just picturing your face saying "EXCUSE ME, #######". hehe sorry hey it's my birthday and I can laugh if I want to.

Wait...this doesn't make sense now.

Winnie you should be in the system for the consulate...even though your petition is still at NVC

Doesn't NVC even notify the consulate that our case is complete and to prepare a spot for our interview???

They way NVC always explains it to me D&G is "our cases are sitting at NVC". Each of our embassy send NVC a select number of open interview times and NVC ACTUALLY DOES OUR SCHEDULING for interview. THEN NVC send us an EMAIL that states the day, time, etc., for our interview...LAST, they forward or petitions to the appropriate embassy.

That may be wrong, but it is what they are telling me every time I call and ask. For K1, I was told the EMBASSY schedules the interview times.

If this is all true, I WISH THE SCHEDULING WAS DONE BY THE OPPOSITE AGENCIES!

It just feels so frustrating because all the k-1 applicants passing us by taking all the interview slots while our petitions just sitting there going nowhere.

Also waiting for an interview... Case complete in the last week of August (not sure of the date). Nothing as yet. Out of interest, does it make any difference in calling the DOS as opposed to NVC, or are both privy to the exact same information? Haven't called DOS yet, but have spoken with NVC several times, sigh.

DOS takes over after the petiton leaves the NVC....until then NVC is in charge.

After your petition leaves NVC then DOS is who you call for any inquiry.

Thanks. So every time I speak with NVC, and they don't mention DOS, I assume it hasn't left the NVC? Should I just call and ask outright if it has been sent from the NVC? Sorry for the probably elementary questions, I'm a bit confused.

Absolutely, of course.

Just ask the representative if your petition is still at NVC.

They will tell you without hesitation.

Well.....HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEBBIE....!!!

My birthday is in 15 days.

mmwah thank you. And your early birthday gift is an interview.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DEBBIE!

WE (L) LOVE (L) YOU SOoooooooo MUCH! (F)

awwww stop it now you make me cry o. Love you back sweet pea.

I just wish I knew the date, I messed up with the medical, I did it way before i should have, so nervous that will mess things up for me

Not mess up but the biggest issue you have is the time. The clock started ticking for your 6 months from medical to POE. So just keep tat in mind. Many have almost ran out of time after interview like within days to have to be in US. But England seems to be a fast processing interview place. It will be okay. You didn't mess up nothing. It is well. :D
