Can I ask my wife to sign it too? I mean Can we both sign it?

Any thoughts??? :innocent:

I signed and had my wife sign the cover letter as well. No Harm doing it.

I don't know what the cover letter is, too :( And my husband didn't have any other signature there, apart from the one on I-751. Additional documents to I-751, I put in my A# and my signature. That's about it.

I also sent copies of numerous documents. But it is in their hands now. I think your son's birth certificate has significant bearing. When we went to see a lawyer, the first thing he asked: "Are you pregnant?" The impression I got from that was that, it was great card to have in this.

Is it just me, or does this proceeding cause too much distress? :(

Don't worry about it. It's just the process is long and you want to make sure everything was sent correctly. These things move slow.

On Coverletter, it is just a letter to the USCIS official telling them what you are including with the package. It is no biggie if you didn't send it. This is what I sent:

How did you get AT&T to put both of your names on the phone bill? We called them multiple times and they wouldn't do it. They said only one person's name will appear on the bill. We got them them to put both our names under our phones on their website though so just going to take screenshots of that and send.

Try to update the "Bill-To" field...

There are 2 fields, one the main account holder and second it additional authorized account holder.

...Then , the BillTo field is separate field that is used to sent bill to.

Like, Peter L. Smith and Jeniffer K. Smith can be be combined in the billto field as "Peter and Jeniffer Smith".

You need to talk to a customer rep who has access to and can update the "BillTo" field.

Now, you are submitting the I751 and I think you are late in doing it.... Good Luck

I have a question...

Do you have to send items in 2, 4 and 5....

They know #2 by typing the SSN on a system.

4 and 5..... You are married and that is why you are submitting I751..

I am finalizing my package and try to figure it out, if I have missed something. :innocent:

No, I don't think you have to. I just threw them in, JUST IN CASE! I swear, if they need me to install a cam in our house so they could see how we live as a couple, I WOULD! LOL.

#2 - I thought that is is an important document, and had to be done when I changed my name, so it shouldn't hurt if it's in there.

#4 - I think this was submitted when I applied for AOS. Not needed, but I have this along with #5, most of the time.

#5 - I think if you have this, it's good to throw this one in there. Not all couples who got married by law, also get married in church. And for some marriages, sharing religious beliefs is imperative.

There are also other redundant stuff that I threw in there. For instance, that tax documents -- I had the transcripts and accounts for both 2011 and 2010. But I also included our 1040 forms and W2s. I read from other posts here that if you have the transcripts and/or accounts, you don't need the forms and W2s.

I am still collecting evidences, in the event that they send an RFE. Sometimes I feel that this is a never-ending process! Goodness.

Hey, thanks for the suggestion. i just checked my bill again and guess what? it has both of our names on the pdf! I had contacted them multiple times regarding this issue, so I guess one of the people actually updated it. Not sure why they didnt tell me. lol. But I am glad its there.

Sent out our I-751 last Monday, received the NOA today. I went to put in the numbers online to track the case, it was invalid. So I called USCIS, they said the number is in fact invalid and that I needed to speak with a higher level of customer service to get this fixed butttt that they are having technical difficulties and I would either have to call back in 2-3 hours or I could leave them a voice-mail or send an email.

Sigh :(

I opted to call back in a few hours. I asked the rep I spoke with if this happens a lot, she said yes =/
