I am in the process of filing the first part of documents for K-1 visa. I was wondering if i need to send a copy of my fiance birth certificate besides the G-325 and Intent to Marry form and the 1 passport photo? What documents are required from him?

I am in the process of filing the first part of documents for K-1 visa. I was wondering if i need to send a copy of my fiance birth certificate besides the G-325 and Intent to Marry form and the 1 passport photo? What documents are required from him?

From him, for you to file the petition, you will need:

A letter of intent, signed (original signature)

G-325a filled out and signed (original signature)

Copy of his divorce decree (if it applies)

One passport-type photo (according to the specifications USCIS requires)

EDIT: and no, you don't need his BC; he will need it for the interview stage, a few months down the road

Only the petitioner's birth certificate is needed with the initial submission and it can be a copy.
