Checklist received, NVC is waiting for Immigrant Visa Application

Hi VJs,

Please help me, here is my question:

I paid AOS and IV fees and then I first sent I-864 form and 5 days later, I sent DS-230 form, now 3 days later, after submitting DS-230, I received a CHECKLIST from NVC saying that NVC is waiting for "Immigrant Visa Application", here is that text from email from NVC:

______1 - IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION PART 1:_______________________

The National Visa Center is waiting for an Immigrant Visa Application to be submitted for this case.

The Principal Applicant and any other Applicants who will be accompanying him or her to the United

States must now download and complete an Immigrant Visa Application;

My question is: I already submitted DS-230 which is called Immigrant Visa Application with all original documents, do I need to ignore this Checklist?

How do I know they received my DS-230, although UPS is showing it is being delivered.

Yep, just ignore this false checklist....you can call NVC to see if they received it already.

Two questions when you sent the DS-230 packet (you did send all the other documents correct?) did you also have the bar-coded coverpage with it?

Call NVC everyday and ask for a status update. They'll probably give you the generic "please allow up to 20 business days" to be processed, but keep at it.

We sent both packets on the same day and our Affidavit of Support (AOS packet) got approved last week. I got the checklist email for the DS-230 the next day, likely because one packet was complete and they hadn't reviewed the other. If you included everything required and your checklist doesn't ask for something specifically (birth certificate, police certificate, etc) you're probably fine - but you should keep calling.

Hi there,i am a pakistani and i filed my case from spain..i didnt send whole package complete..my wife sent the AOS documents within USA and i sent my documents from spain to NVC. I received the same checklist that they r waiting for an immigration visa application while AOS was accepted already but the moment,they received my Application,they completed the case in time.so if u hve already sent everything.jst wait then.

it takes almost 02 weeks for the documents to come into system after their delivery date..

Zara, Dont worrk about that checklist. You receieve that list cuz nvc has automated system that generates that checklist letter once AOS is submitted. Once nvc receives your DS-230 in one week it will complete your case and in following two weeks you will get an interview date.

Just call nvc and ask them everyday and they will tell you about your case status. Most likely you will be given an interview date for late december or early january. My case was completed on Sept 23, and on Oct 4th i receved an email with interview date for last week of Nov in Islamabad Embassy
