It doesn't really matter now. I did the medical exams and I'll be taking the sealed envelope tomorrow. So thank you USCIS. There goes $300 down the drain.

The same thing happened to me. I feel your frustration. Very irritating to do everything the right way, the way you're supposed to, and someone else's error ends up costing you time and money. Ridiculous.

Ahh, I stand corrected. I missed that as I saw you replying to roshlioto who is the OP. For those worried about skipping the civil surgeon and just sending the DS-3025, the VJ member didopage is an active member that sent only their DS-3025, had no RFE and was not asked for an I-693 at their recent interview. Maybe that can ease some worried minds a little.

Update - Interview today. Approved. Using only form DS-3025 was a non-issue. Didn't need to complete medical form. Woohoo.

One more question. Before sending the RFE package should I include a cover letter listing what's inside the envelope (like the one you send with the I-485 form)?

You can, but I never did.
