Just one quick question. My wife and i sent out the I-130, and I-485 packet out today. I forgot to put the g-1145 in the packet. Would it do any good to mail it separate? Or should I not worry about sending it at all?

You will receive an RFE for not sending it.

It is not advisable to send it under a separate mailing because there is no guarantee that USCIS will correctly match it up with your applications.

Wait for the RFE then reply to it.

Alternatively, they might reject the application outright for being incomplete. In this case you just resubmit the whole thing again, this time including the G-325As.

The G-1145 is not required. it is the optional form to set up the automated alerts system. Failure to send it will not result in a RFE.

It's too late to send it now. Once you get the Notice of initial acceptance, you can turn this feature on. It's not very accurate though.

AM sure you're not the first to read it as a different form than what it said.

OP, there are other ways of tracking your case. See if they cashed the check yet(your bank account), or wait for the NOA1. Once you have that, you can set up an account on USCIS and add the case number/numbers to your port folio and put check marks in the boxes "email notice" and/or "phone/text". Don't send it now because it most likely won't be matched up with your case.
