Uuuh, so... I am not rich. I work retail. I get paid decently. Buuttt...

How much money am I supposed to have in my bank and in savings at this precise moment to prove I can support my soon to be husband?

My dad said he is willing to help too. Should he fill out the i-134 form also?

I feel kind of sick right now....

It is not about how much you have in a savings account. It is about your current annual income. For a household size of 2, if it is just you and your fiance, then you need to earn at least $18,912 a year. If you don't have enough and need to use assets, such as money in a savings account, then they need to be 3 times the amount you are short on income. So, if you need $18k and make $15k, then you are short $3k and would need at least $9k in assets to make up the difference.

If you use your dad as a co-sponsor, then yes, he will also fill out is own separate I-134. You both provide your 2011 tax transcripts, letter from employer stating position and salary, plus copies of your most recent pay stubs. Your dad would also need to provide proof that he is a USC or LPR by sending a copy of his US birth certificate, naturalization, biographic page of US passport or front and back copy of green card.

Which country is your fiance from?

Just to add to the replies you've already gotten, you might want to ask your father to look into the i-864 requirements too if you still won't make above poverty guidelines by the time of AOS. The i-134 is only being half way there, and passing embassy stage. There's a new stage in the US, and by that time, the new affidavit of support is a bit heavier and is enforceable.

Ok guys, thank you. I already asked my bosses if they could write a letter stating that I have a full time and permanent job. They are gonna add how much I make and other information. I think I make 19000 a year. Since its almost the exact amount of what im supposed to earn, should I still tell my dad to help out?

Being above the limit of your household size) it what matters so you should be good to go. However when cutting it really really close, I'd have a co-sponsor ready. You might not need it but at least the paperwork is ready to be given at the interview IF there are any issues. Much better than waiting around to submit it and then waiting for a decision from the embassy.

I only asked about the country because some countries won't allow co-sponsors, it's important to know before giving any advise. :)
