hi everybody I have a friend that's coming to visit me in a few weeks for a couple of months how much money does she have to show the cbp at Poe since I will be hosting her stay here she has like a $1000.00usd but I told her that I can write a letter to cbp stating that I will be covering the rest of her expenses, need feed back. A letter from you will do little to help. However, if she has $1k and is staying with a friend that should be more than enough. If she has an international credit card in addition, she should not have any issues.

There is no official limit, if asked your friend can let the officer know that she would be staying with you and $1000 would be enough for purchase and gifts to take back home.
