Question!

Are EAD and AP useless if we get the GC 1-2weeks later?

What is their use then?

As far as I understand EAD is to work when you are not a resident. But once you have GC, you don't need EAD.

Should I give my employer the new EAD number, and then in 2 weeks the GC number?

At least I didn't pay for this one, and I didn't apply for AP, since I thought it was useless. Am I wrong?

What do you think? I guess most of you applied/paid $400 for travel doc?

does it say that in the little ext below the "initial review, decision, etc..." labels?

I have never seen that :/

Maybe tomorrow it will change to "production". It is common that it goes back and forward between labels. happened to me last year with EAD

There is no additional fee for EAD and AP if filing with I485. We did because if for any reason our case took longer we would have the freedom to travel. I have seen AOS cases taking months to go through..

4/2012: Met online and began this cRaZY journey

9/2/2011: He proposed and I said YES!!After multiple trips back and forth.....

7/4/2012: He entered USA at LAX on B2 to visit 6 months

8/8/2012: We got married!!8/8/2012: AOS packet sent (Day 0)

8/10/2012: Packet signed for at 11:48a (Day 2)

8/14/2012: We got our txt/email notifications (all 4) (Day 6)

8/16/2012: Checks cashed.. (Day 8)

8/23/2012: Biometrics letter received via "snail mail" today.. September 7th at 12p in Sacramento CA (Day 15)

8/27/2012: Finally received all 4 NOA1 hard copies via US mail (Day 19)

9/7/2012: Biometrics completed!! (Day 30)

9/19/2012: Received txt message for interview!! October 22nd, 2012.. (Day 42)

9/21/2012: And the interview letter comes in snail mail.. October 22nd, 2pm in Sacramento..Time to get the final stuff together.. (Day 44)

10/16/3012: Received txt msg, EAD is approved and card being mailed. Right before interview and not really needed anyhow!! (Day 69)

10/19/2012: After a bunch of repetitive text messages, my husband received his combo card EAD/AP.. Of course four days before our interview!! (Day 72)

10/22/2012: Interview.. APPROVED!! (Day 75) Next journey ROC!!

10/29/2012: Green Card received in US mail... (Day 82) WOO HOO!!

~ROC BEGINS!!~

08/25/2014: Lifting Conditions Packet Mailed to CA service center (Day 0)

08/27/2014: NOA1 Receipt (Day 2)

09/05/2014: Biometrics letter received via "snail mail" Set for September 15th at 10a in Sacramento CA (Day 11)

09/15/2014: Biometric completed... now we wait!! (Day 21)

11/21/2014: Card/Document Production email received!! (Day 88)

12/01/2014: Card arrives in our mailbox.. this chapter is over... (Day 98) Next is citizenship!!

Congrats everyone getting updates, Receive a text and my EAD Date changed from 23 to 26, still says card production... on the other hand I got my interview notice in the mail yesterday YAY! is at 1PM last night I started getting all our paperwork together, printed all my forms, got bank statements, utilities bills etc so now Im getting our christmas/birthdays/Valentines letters together... we have lost of pictures too but should I take just some of them or even the silly ones ??? what else do we need?

08/16/12 - AOS Package delivered to USCIS Chicago

08/21/12 - Received 3 emails to confirm receipt of our paperwork

08/27/12 - Received 3 'hard-copy' NOA1s, dated 08/21/12, in the mail

08/27/12 - Received in the mail biometrics appointment, dated 08/23/12, for 09/12

09/12/12 - Biometrics appointment completed at ASC Atlanta

10/23/12 - EAD Card/Document Production 10/24/2012

10/24/12 - Appointment notice for interview

10/26/12 - Another txt about EAD but dated 10/26/2012 EAD Card/Document Production

10/26/12 - Receive Interview Receipt in the mail

10/29/12 - 2Emails updates on my EAD status, The USPS picked up mail from USCIS containing your new card

10/31/12 - Got my EAD in the mail YAY!!

11/29/12 - Interview Day 1 PM Atlanta APPROVED!!

08/09/2012 - confirmation of package delivery

08/14/2012 - text/email notification of all 4 application acceptance

08/24/2012 - received biometric appt for 09/07/2012

08/27/2012 - successful walk-in biometric in Atlanta

08/27/2012 - received NOA for I-485, I-131, I-765 still waiting for I-131

10/01/2012 - received NOA for Initial Interview on November 1st in Atlanta

10/11/2012 - received text notification that EAD is in production

10/19/2012 - received EAD in the mail

11/01/2012 - interview in Atlanta: no approval on the spot

11/01/2012 - text notification later that day that I was being registered as a permeant resident :)

Went down to San Antonio on Thursday night for our 8:30 AM appointment on Friday. Unfortunately, while it was in the 90's and sunny when we drove down, it was 50, windy, and rainy on Friday leaving us quite unprepared for the weather. Out interview ended up starting a little after 9AM but it went pretty smoothly with no real grilling. We left about 15 minutes later with the temporary I-551 stamp in my wife's passport.

08/13/2012: Package received by Chicago Lockbox
08/14/2012: Priority Date
08/17/2012: Notice of receipt sent

10/24/2012: EAD production ordered

Nope. Had seen on the USCIS website last week where it had changed to "card production ordered", but never got a text, letter, nothing. Just got the actual EAD card in today's mail. :thumbs: On countdown.... 12 days til interview!! :wacko:
