Hi,

Just wondering how these forms are filled out regarding dates? Do we use the American mm/dd or is dd/mm ok?

What did others do?

Also, is it ok to leave questions blank if they do not apply or we do not know (eg employment abroad or A number)?

Finally, my fiance does not have a copy of his birth certificate and we were going to send in his passport pages in lieu of this. Is it ok to leave the bc number blank on his G325?

Thanks in advance!

Here's a sample http://www.visajourney.com/examples/INS-Form-G-325A.pdf we used mm/dd unless otherwise stated (some actually say which way they want you to do it). In fact, many of these forms, when you click on the date box, they display an actual calendar.. so you can select a date and make sure the format that it calls for.

Yes, if you are sending copies of his passport to prove citizenship, you do not need to add the BC number. Just remember to copy all pages of the passport, including the blank ones; as they are all number coordinated.

A good place to start is with the guides and example forms available at the top of the website. The forms indicate (mm/dd/yyyy). I am not sure what you mean by birth certificate number. I am not finding this on I-129F or G325A. I used my birth certificate and passport. The only place I see for ID numbers would be Social Security, Alien Number, and Naturalization certificate. If a question doesn't apply to you, the answer is 'N/A'. If it does apply but there is none, the answer is 'None'. Do not leave a question blank. This can be confusing, but the example forms at top will clear much of this for you.

A good rule of thumb is to remember these are forms from the AMERICAN government, so you will be going by American rules for your entire immigration process. This includes forms to the embassy in London, as well as meeting American immunization requirements, etc.
