I remember, only one copy of various forms and supporting documents are required when filing. But, it is best to keep another copy for reference / file. In case there is RFE, the USCIS will not contact you as beneficiary, instead, they will contact your husband since he is the petitioner. Good luck !

Do I sense that you have a bit of a temper?

Your husband will be notified by mail when the NOA2 is approved. Then it goes to the NVC for processing. Sit back and be patient because you have a long wait ahead.

Processing time at the USCIS is approximately 5 to 6 months and processing between NVC and Embassy is another 5 months.

You need to be prepared before hand for each phase. You will need several original of your NBI clearance, marriage certificate, birth certificate, etc, etc.

Assuming you submitted everything to USCIS, you need to begin preparing for NVC and getting him the info he needs. You should keep second or third original for yourself for embassy interview.

Everything you need to know can be found on Visa Journey website for the Philippines and the US Embassy for the Philippines website.

There is a toll free phone number to a texas exchange that will connect directly the US Embassy in the Philippines for scheduling appointment for interview in the event you dont' get a date for interview directly from the NVC.

Ours was expedited and the NVC did not provide us with an appointment date at embassy so I had to call Embassy for wife to get an appointment. I had embassy on my cell phone and my wife on my home phone to get all the info from her passport, etc. It worked great because the Texas exchange gets someone on the phone. The phone number directly to the embassy was always busy or no one answered.

Good luck

Why would you send two copies?

i mean 2 copies. like 2 copies of i-130 2 copies of g-1145 and 2 copies of g-325a then send to USCIS.. but he only make 1 copy of each. so idk now if they going to reject the papers cuz of that. and i know thats why they need a 2 copies cuz the other copy will be kept on USCIS then the other one going to NVC.

Um, you only need to send the single original petition. If he made a copy for himself, he can make a copy from that for fun!

Hey girl! please understand, upon filing the application, only one copy of various forms and supporting papers are needed. Once your husband receives NOA2, that is the time he has to submit other requirements to the NVC. The normal processing time is about 6-8 months. So, while waiting for the approval, you may opt to start preparing other documents needed so that when time comes you are ready. To properly guide you, you may check the list of documents needed here in VJ. I suggest you do some research / readings in this very informative site -- all your questions / confusions could be properly address in the FAQ section and some related posts. God bless and hope this could help............:)

USCIS and NVC are two different offices. Only one set of original paperwork is needed upon filing to the USCIS. The requirements for NVC are sent once you have NOA2, that is expected after 6-8 months. Hopefully, he made extra copy for his file / reference. Hope you got me now :)

Nope, this is wrong. You are getting upset only because you are misinformed.

You only send 1 set of the paperwork in to USCIS, not 2. NVC requires a different set of paperwork.

Your husband did fine. It is better for him to have a copy of everything for your personal files.

Yes only one copy is needed to be sent to the USCIS. They will forward your case and required different documents (original and photocopy) there. You don't need to send the NVC the I-130, G-325, and 1145 again. that all gets forwarded. Please read the guides and the instructions to the forms before you get too bent out of shape. If any copies of the forms was made, it was to be kept for your own records. I made copies of everything submitted through the whole process and had my wife take everything to the interview just in case there was any questions.

that's why I was confused and asked if you were filing concurrently or not. If you weren't, then I can understand needing a copy of the I-130 to send in with your I-485 after the NOA for the I-130 ... but you're yelling about two copies what why? You only need to send in ONE!
