Hello everyone! Quick question! :)

I'm a conditional GC holder and I'll be traveling outside US soon. Will I be able to exit and re-enter US with my conditional GC only?

Thank you!

You will use your home country passport to travel internationally. The name on the ticket must match the name on the passport. You will need to statisfy all requirements of the country(ies) of intended visit based on your home country's passport. The GC may make obtaining the tourist visas easier and in some cases in the Western Hemisphere you can travel on just the GC without the need for getting a visa. The GC allows you re-entry into the US. The conditional GC is the same as a regular GC except that it does expire in two years and if you do not file for ROC your LPR status is revoked.

You will also need your passport. Book your ticket in your passport name and have a great trip. :)

Wait, really? I thought I can travel outside US with my conditional GC only.

The vacation (in my married name) and the tickets (in my married name) are booked already. My Slovene passport is in my maiden name only.

What do I do now?

:help:

Change the name on the ticket. A Greencard is only a document for the US. It is not a travel document for the rest of the world. It is NOT a passport nor does it act like one.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

Change the name on the ticket.

My Slovene passport contains the following information:

1) My first name-M

2) My last name-D

My plane ticket contains the following information:

My first name-M

My (husband's) last name-R

Should I change my plane ticket to MD or to MDR?

:help:

(I'm on the phone with the airline now  )
