We destroyed their country, watching our president wage a war of aggression upon them with one farcical reason after another. First the WMD farce, then the "democracy" farce. It meant a secret ballot - except it was the names of the people running for office that were secret!

The result of that "democracy" was an interior ministry department running torture and murder squads, the main symptom of which was dead bodies showing up all over the place with holes drilled in their knees. Millions of refugees. Americans just get angry at any kind of complete accounting of the dead Iraqis. All of this going back to the USA putting Saddam Hussein into power in the first place via CIA-funded Baath Party Coup in 1963. We gave them a list of communists to execute, which they did. The reason for this coup was Qassim nationalizing part of the international oil company assets in Iraq, and leaving the Anti-Soviet Baghdad Pact. We were his allies in the Iranian war, doing chemical weapons bomb reconnaissance for him. What irks me is how huge the lies are we tell to ourselves about how much we care for them, or the Iranians, or the Afghans or Pakistanis or whoever we are killing.

This man's brother is dead and I wish I could do more than offer condolences, they seem so hollow in light of what my country has done to his country. It was a specific policy to retain tight controls against Iraqi immigration while we were destroying their country under the theory we were at war with them. It just shows that we have no mercy whatever. The responses here too - he's just a nuisance and we thumb our noses at him. Because that's what we're really all about. This is going to get into international law because Bush waged a war of aggression, the supreme crime by Nuremburg standards, a part of which was refusing protection to people under a host of Geneva Conventions. Its way beyond the expertise of this forum as to jurisdiction, standing, etc. As laymen though we all surmise that taking on the most powerful military empire in the history of the world in courts that they ultimately control is futile.

So the very last place someone who had suffered under the hands of the Yankee oppressors would wish to go to is............?

There are so many options very nearby where they would be both more religiously and politically be more attuned.

PS Also never understood the Iraqi Adventure, assumed it was down to Bush not having paid attention in Geography class.
