AOS interview today: No rings at all = problem?

Hi, my wife and I are going to our AOS interview later today (in about 4 hours). At present we don't have any engagement or wedding rings, as we are planning to have a ceremonial wedding in her hometown in Thailand (hopefully in a couple months)after she gets a green card and will buy all the rings there.

I have heard some people say that not having rings at the AOS interview is not an issue, but I notice that the VisaJourney interview guide has a question about wedding rings.

Since I have been married once before, I happen to have those wedding rings still sitting around. Would it be a good idea to put on those old rings just for the purpose of the interview, or just honestly say we haven't bought rings yet?

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Personally I will not put rings on from the other marriage. In my contry it is a bad luck.

I don't think it is a big issue if you have rings on or not if you have enough proof to show that you live together as a couple.

If you have other things to show that you are married, you will be fine.

Good Luck

Do not put the rings on just for the interview. IMHO that would cheapen the symbol the rings you want to buy when you have your big ceremony. My feelings are to not do thing just because they look a certain way to USCIS. Live your life as if you did not have to deal with USCIS, but document it because you have to. You have a very valid reason for not having rings. If asked at the interview just say what you wrote here and you will be fine. You could be like me and forgot to put the ring on this morning because you removed your ring to do yard work last night and it just so happens to be the day of the interview (I feel naked with my ring BTW). There is no one thing that makes a relationship valid or that USCIS is looking for. If there was the scammers would be all over it.

Relax and go to the interview with confidence that your marriage is valid and that will show thru,

Dave

When I had my interview the officer looked at our hands and said: 'you have wedding rings and everything ... I can see its a real marriage.' I am not saying, that's what proves a real marriage, but be aware, that the subject could come up. You do have a good explanation which makes sense tho ...

Even i would avoid that question to come up by wearing the rings.

Few things are in your control and few aren't. Atleast, take care of the things that you have control on. :-)
