Isn't it strange that VJ debates are full of people talking like this - swearing and beating on the NAACP and using animated gifs in their signatures of the President being urinated on, and yet President Obama was elected by a majority of the American people

I can only conclude they have been driven into an anonymous cyber underground like the militias are driven into their bunkers up on the mountains

The contents of their minds are poured out onto our screens. They don't seem happy, they seem angry and vicious - it must be because its slipping away from them now

It's quite encouraging really, but a new immigrant must wonder if they are the typical American

Part of the problem IS the fact that the POTUS is elected by the American people.

Part of the problem IS the fact that the SENATE is elected by the American people.

I know as a foreign body and being new to this country you don't understand our constitutional history, but that wasn't always the case. The founders of this country purposefully made sure that those seats/that office were not elected directly by the American people.

I don't know what evidence you have that I am ignorant about the history of the US or it's constitution or it's voting arrangements.

Governments are not elected by popular vote in the UK either so I am quite aware of electoral colleges in the US and how it all works

The insightful one is the poster who lied in their post as if it was an actual quote. He's done it before on here. If he can't post anything in this forum other than his usual green energy post with links to totally off the wall sites than what's he doing posting about politics?

I want to see that quote that was in his post on a link somewhere. If you google it nothing comes up with that quote.

It was widely reported yesterday that Romney said exactly that at a campaign event later that same day!
