Wrong Divorce Date Question

Hello All,

I came across this site a few months ago when I started the process of bringing my DH to the US but have never posted. I have been reading the forums and am hoping you guys might have some valuable insight to offer in my search for calming my nerves.

Last night, as I was seeing petitions approved surrounding my general time of submission, I pulled out my petition. Upon reading it, I see that I put the wrong divorce date for a previous divorce. I put the date as 9-7-12 (lol this isnt even here yet) instead of 9-7-11. I did send in all my original divorce papers. My question is this..... Will they deny the application because of the wrong date, even though they can see the divorce papers have 2011 and will I have to restart the process? OR Will they more than likely send an RFE to fix the original petition? I have read through previous posts but none seem to fit exactly.

My guess is that they will cross reference the date you put on the form with the date of the actual document and assume that you made an error. They may send you an RFE or they may just accept it. An outright denial seems unlikely to me.

DH is for my Dear Husband. I dont think I would want him to be a designated hitter as I don't think he has ever played baseball. He is looking forward to learning though with my two boys :D . I hope they cross reference the date. All in all, I would settle for an RFE to correct it too. I just dont want to be back to square one. Thanks for the guesses and opinions :)

Expect a RFE. If there is a denial in store for you it will not be because of this error.
