Hello all,

My wife is currently pending status with me here in Corpus Christi, TX and we found out a few weeks ago that we are pregnant! Can anyone help with some information about health insurance providers that will accept her pre-existing condition and will begin maternity coverage immediately? Thank you in advance, we are most appreciative :)

No private insurance will accept her already pregnant.

Look into self-paying, it is what we did. We got a substantial discount (33%) for paying for all regular visits/ labs etc at the first pre-natal visit.

Why is she not on your insurance now? You don;t need status to be on insurance.

I know this doesn't apply to the OP as he is an independent contractor, but my husbands company would not allow me on insurance without an SSN and greencard.

Did you speak to someone higher up in the food chain? Because usually this can be fixed with a call. I think by law they are not allowed to ask for SSN if you don't have one, though some insurances can ask for legal status (they can't ask specifically for GC though). I remind everyone that a SSN is NOT a national ID number and it is not a requirement to have one.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!
