Some of you may remember our case..

My wife was a Beneficiary of a K-1 Visa.. She now has a 2 yr GC.. 6 Months after she arrived, We submitted the application for the dirivative K-2 Visa for My wifes 9 year old daughter.. It was appoved in Oct 2011.. At the last minute, we learned that the Father had a change of heart and decided he would not sign permission for his daughter to come live in the USA with her mom.. The dirivative K-2 Visa expired in Mar 2012... My wife travels frequently to Colombia to be with her daughter, and she really hasn't settled into her new life here in the USA because of the a sense of not being able to start new with her daughter so far away..

We recently learned that the father would allow the daughter to visit her mom in the USA for short periods of time during school breaks, So we decided to apply for the visitors visa for her daughter..

In order to apply for the Visitors Visa, the Application requires copies of prior visas.. Here is the problem, My wife left the Visa with her Mom in Colombia.. My wife is currently visiting in Colombia with her daughter staying with her mom.. While gathering documents, her and the mom were unable to find the Passport containing the dirivative K-2 Visa ..

How do we address this in the Tourist Visa applicaiton??

Thanks

Kenny

Guys

All of you, Thanks sincerely for your replies..

But I am not sure if asked my question correctly or if you all understand what I am asking...

The K-2 Visa expired in March.. We dont want to use it, however to apply for a TOURIST VISA, the application requests that applicants sends copies of prior visas.. So, what I am asking, is there anyone who knows, if we will have an issue submitting the application without the old expired K2 Visa?

For example; can we send a letter explaining the VISA was lost.. we still have the Case Number...

Does the question make sense or did I create more confusion.. :)

Thanks

Kenny

The visia was in the passport, so the pasport was lost too correct, so you need to follow the advise that was given in the two prior post, report passport lost along with repoerting to the US embassy that the non active visA WAS LOST.

It is that simple.

Post No 3 gave you that information.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Thanks Boiler.. I really dont want to seem stupid or argumentative; but....

I've re-read Post no 3 a few times and don't see the answer..

It responds to replacing a "lost visa"

That isn't what I am trying to do.. You only need a lost visa if you intend to use that visa.. Since the Lost Vsa was a K2 Visa, and it is expired, we dont need it replaced.. we need to apply for a Tourist Visa.. But they ask for copies of prior visas.. The Embassy wont replace an expired visa..

Guys, this is frustrating.. it seems that you arent reading my post clearly..

Please, If you can answer the question, please assist us..If I am missing the answer in post #3 I appologize, but I just reviewed it again, (this time very carefully) and I dont see the answer..

This is my question: How do I address this in the application for the tourist Visa?

Thanks Again

It's lost, simply explain that the passport containing the visa was lost. Supply copies of the police report and the notification to the US embassy regarding the lost visa along with the application.

There isn't anything else that you can do. Things get lost.

THANK YOU GUYS!!!

That is great help.. Thanks.. I was thinking on-those-lines, but wanted confirmation...

I would have hated to hear that the future visits to her mom, of a 9 year old, was forever lost because of a mistake made by her grandma, but you never know when it comes to the US and some obscure and strange processes that may be hidden away someplace and other processes, that dont seem to address fairly common things that occur..

Again, I appologize for seeming dense.. But was looking for confirmation..
