Hi VJ'ers,

its been about 1 year and a half since we decided to get married and now at the end of june will be 5 Months Since we got our NOA1. I wanted to know, if we have not recieved any RFE's yet can we say we are in the clear? or can they come at anytime?

According to Visajourney and my timeline info, I should be getting my NOA2 end of JUNE or First week in JULY.

thanks

p.s. how long is the normal time between NOA2 and Interview date???? assuming all documents are in on time ( we have had these ready and prepared a while ago)

You are clear from RFEs when you get your NOA2.

They haven't even looked at your case yet, so they have no idea if you are missing information

Good luck

If/when you get an RFE will be whenever they take a look at your package, which they haven't yet. As soon as they do, they will either send you an RFE or an NOA 2. Like you said, you might hear something at the end of this month or possibly early July. Good luck.

Generally the NVC stage is a lot faster than the USCIS stage. I am not 100% certain, but the CR-1 visa, which my wife is in the process of getting, took about a month from the NOA2 to getting her case number. After that we submitted all the bills and are going to send the package on Monday which generally takes another week. And from what I hear after that it may take 2 weeks to a month (more in rare cases) to schedule an interview. Long story short, my wife's NOA2 was sent on April 23rd, and we are assuming that we will get an interview in July. However one full month of our wait was just for the NVC to receive the package and give a case number. Once you get a case number it gets a lot faster, at least with the CR-1 visa. I would imagine it's the same with the K-1, but someone please correct me if I am wrong :hehe:

So we can expect a wait time of 2-3 months after the NOA2 for a interview date???

Generally, after the NOA2, the time between that and the interview depends on you and the consulate. It depends on how quickly NVC gets your documents and how busy the consulate is.

We were lucky, we spent 25 days in NVC then got an interview 2 months later. However, some people made it through NVC at the same pace but waited 6 months for their interview because Montreal got very very VERY backed up

Good luck

Honestly you are not "clear " of getting an RFE until the visa is in your hand.

You can still get RFE before an interview, at an interview or after an interview.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

Yea, I made a big deal out of it but it turns out it was the USPS that messed up during the holiday season. Lesson Learned, put a Tracking NUmber on your Package.

Here is consulate specific timelines from NVC notice to interview. Brazil 56 days.
