I-751 non-delivery of biometrics notice

I filed form I-751 on 03/28/2012, and received the receipt and the green card extension letter, but have not received the biometrics appointment notice. It has been more than two months since the receipt arrived. It is possible that the reason this happened is that USCIS has a hard time printing my address correctly--it is a long address and sometimes my apartment number gets truncated. In the past the mail has always made it to me anyway, but it is possible that the first appointment notice was lost in the mail for this reason.

I called the hotline to ask what to do, and they said it should have arrived within 1 month of the receipt and they would put in a request to re-send it. I then received a response email with this info:

Type of service requested: Non-Delivery of Other Notice

The status of this service request is: The process for fingerprint appointment scheduling has been requested. Applicants will be mailed appointment notices when the ASC in their area has appointments available.

It has been two weeks since this email and I still have not received an appointment notice.

Questions:

1. Has anyone else had experience with having to resend a biometrics notice? How long did it take?

2. Is is possible to just show up at the biometrics center and wait around all day until they can take you? I had planned to travel in August, so I would really like to get this out of the way.

3. Is it possible to submit a change of address for the purpose of reformatting my address even though I have not moved? If they sent our mail to #111 instead of Apt. 111 it wouldn't be cut off.

I waited 89 days before I got a biometrics notice. Have they actually scheduled you a biometrics appointment? You can check by calling USCIS and asking to speak to tier 2.

Where is your local ASC? Some centers have long delays, and some allow walk-ins while others do not. Knowing where you're located will help us give you the best answers.

I have the same issue.

I suggest calling USCIS and letting them know about the non-receipt of biometrics letter. They will create a service request and will ask you to get back in touch with them in 15 days time in case you do not hear back from them meanwhile.

You should be fine. Here is my story... I filed back in November. I waited and waited for 2 months and then called them. They created a service request saying that my fingerprints appointment was sent to me and included a copy of it.I did my bio in February. So guess what? Like 3-4 days ago we received a letter saying that i should come and do biometrics on...01/06/2012. So my biometrics were supposed to be back in January and only now we got the letter!!! I missed my bio appointment back in January and i didn't even know about it! Thank God they didnt close my case!
