I was printing off the cover sheet and making sure that I have all of the documents ready. (I thought I did) Now I am thinking that I have to have my wife sign page 1 of the DS-230 and then Fedex it back to me? Because I can't have a scanned copy that she has signed. Is this true? I hope not. Thanks Vj'ers.

Close. She signs "Part ONE" on page 2. You need to submit the document with her original signature. Scan does not = original for this or any other document at the NVC stage. Same goes for birth, marriage and police certificates and divorce decrees, if applicable. A scanned and emailed copy of the passport is fine.

I called NVC when I was doing this step and they said that part one of DS-230 needed to be an original signature (no copies). Call them up an confirm maybe they will be understanding. Fill the application up for your wife and send it to her via email. Have her FEDEX back ASAP. This will save you time and money.

Yes she has to sign part I, original signature not copy

They wont be understanding, they ask for original that is what you send

I know we all are in a rush to be with our loved one, it took my husband 2 weeks

to send me the originals.

DO send her original signature otherwise they will ask for it later

No amount of "understanding" will change the "requirements". When they say original, they mean ORIGINAL.

For the DS230, there is a question that asks if anyone assisted you in preparing this form. If I am completing this form and sending to my husband to sign, do I need to say that I assisted in preparing it? Or do they simply mean if a 3rd party, such as an atty assisted?

Thanks!

They mean if you had help. In this case you helping yourself do not count.

Sure, if the US Citizen assists the foreign spouse, they can indicate that or not. Doesn't really matter.

Leaving it blank would have been just as free of issues. I don't know anybody who ever indicated they were assisted by Pushbrk at Visa Journey but you can bet your britches they number in the hundreds. This is not a make or break question.
