I thought K1 is an immigrant visa?

EDIT: I stand corrected, thank you, good thing I've asked.

On DS-230 it says application for an immgirant visa. Oh well, I've resent it, now we wait.

Though technically the K1 is non-immigrant, it IS listed under the consulate specific websites (link they provided) under the family based Immigrant visa. For purposes of this, they may consider as immigrant visa.

It's a hybrid visa, I think that's about the only way it can be described. Think of it this way

The K1 is an entry visa that allows you to enter the USA with the explicit intention of marrying a US Citizen. Therefore non-immigrant, however it also has the rights associated to it so that the individual can convert their status to an immigrant. So technically it's an immigrant visa as it allows the entrant to immigrate. So it's a hybrid, technically neither one or the other

No, not at all . There will be no response to your initial email.

Instead, you must make a new email with the proper 'subject' line, referenced above, then send it off, and wait a day.
