Hi VJ's friends. We had our interview this morning. Our IO is the black mean guy and unfriendly. He's very serious when asking the questions.

He asked if we engaged before i came here or did i intend to get married and i said No. I came here to visit my husband and my relatives, so he asked my husband do i have extended family in the US? My husband told him i have relatives in California.

He then asked me some questions that we already summited in the package which i didnt remember like when my visa expired and when i got my examination for I693 which i said in Jan or Feb

He asked us about lease which we didnt have coz my husband own his apt. My husband told him he has mortgage. I then suggested him we have our joint bank account, phone bills, gas bills and electric bills which showed our both names in it, He asked my husband when he added me on his bank account which my husband didnt remember either.

He asked about our inssurance, then he asked where my husband study, how long for his master degree and what his subject and then Yes/No questions and my husband tax return in 2011.

After 15mins of the interview, he asked us to wait at the lobby. We waited for another 15mins, he came out and gave us back all the documents. He only kept my I94 and our bills. He gave us the paper which said "Your case is being held for the file review in order to prepare a decision ....." He told us he had to review our file and will send us the mail within 60days.

Is that normal? Are we okay? Please advise as i'm getting anxious now. I didnt nervous when we came to the interview as my husband had to go away for his programm in upstate NY (he signed up for his class long time ago, before we got the letter for the interview) and just came back for the interivew and i just got back from the trip so we didnt have time to prepare for the interview but we thought we are a real couple and we bonafide but after the interview i'm getting anxious because it didnt went well like we thought.

Please give me some advices. Thank you.

He asked about our inssurance, then he asked where my husband study, how long for his master degree and what his subject and then Yes/No questions and my husband tax return in 2011.

He asked us when my husband came back to my country the 3rd time to get to know me coz in our timeline we stated Feb 26 2010 but it didnt showed it on his passport, It might be lost and we didnt remember but he still kept his boarding pass showed Feb 25 2010 (but i forgot to give it to the officer at the interview)

One more thing is the typing error in our timeline. He proposed me on Nov 9 but on the timeline, he typed Nov 12. Some minor mistakes but we didnt know it will affect our case or not.

Please give me some advices. Thank you.

I certainly understand being nervous, I would be too. But I think you're ok. If he thought you were lying, I think he'd do more investigating. Maybe make you come for a second interview. There was nothing in what you described that would make him deny you outright (at least that's my guess.)

I really think you're ok. He just couldn't (or wouldn't) approve you on the spot. Hang in there, I bet you get a positive decision soon.

in a week, call USCIS Hotline, ask for casefile status.

Plan to call once a week after that, until you hear about the approval.

Thanks for your all reply. We do appreciated. My mom in law asked us to get an attorney just in case, but i told her we would wait until next Friday, if we dont hear anything from them, we will see an attorney.

We both were so busy at that time. My husband had full time job and full time school at NYU, I just got an internship, we did the best we could. He proposed me on Nov 9 and my mom were with me at that time so we wanted her to join our religious wedding before she flew back to my country so we went to city hall to register for marriage license on that day (I didnt know why we typed Nov 12 is the day he proposed me haizz)

Some minor mistakes but we really dont know if it affect our case or not haizzz.

Well it takes up to 60 days to have a decision, pretty normal, the result can come in any time from now. You call in, the answer will be the same, wait 60 days. Please keep in mind that NYC is tough, you guys were lucky not having a Stokes one. Good luck and be patient. Everything is gonna be fine. Good luck.

What good would a lawyer do? Don't do that! It will be a waste of your money - at this point they are just going to be approving (most likely) or denying. A lawyer has absolutely no power to speed this or have any influence on the decision,

Well, he can definitively call the 800 number on OP's behalf! And yes, it is a waste of money.

A lawyer is not an Interview officer, he can't neither approve you nor making the decision comes faster.

Just be patient, I don't see anything wrong with your interview.
