Today I received an exciting update that read "On May 25, 2012, we ordered production of your new card. Please allow 30 days for your card to be mailed to you. If we need something from you we will contact you. If you move before you receive the card, call customer service at 1-800-375-5283."

This is great news right before the Memorial holiday weekend. My husband is eager to start work. This is great.

Anyone know when the Green Card (I485) is usually approved after the work permit is approved?

Woohoo good news indeed!

Didn't go through the K-1 process so not quite sure how the timeline works especially with likely no interview.

But I would think not long from now?

Ours was out of wack as you can see from my timeline. Received the EAD card and GC on the same day! :bonk:

Good luck and have fabulous holiday weekend!

Thank you for sharing your experience. I wish my husband would receive the GreenCard the same day; however, it does not work that way for K-1 visas. Maybe we will get an appointment letter for our interview soon.

Congrats on EAD!

Approval of the i-485 depends on whether it's sent to a local office or to California. Usually, when it goes to a local office, you'll have an interview but it'll be faster than when it's at CSC. Follow your case online and see if it'll change in a few weeks - and to which office(you'll receive a notification in the mail).

K1 process, October 2010 > POE, July 2011

I-129F approved in 180 days from NOA1 date. (195 days from filing to NOA2 in hand)

Interview took 224 days from I-129F NOA1 date. (241 days from filing petition until visa in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until POE: 285 days

Click timeline or "about me" for all details.

AOS process, December 2011 > July 2012

EAD/AP Approval took 51 days from NOA1 date to email update. (77 days from filing until EAD/AP in hand)

AOS Approval took 206 days from NOA1 date to email update. (231 days from filing until greencard in hand)

From filing I-129F petition until greencard in hand: 655 days

Click timeline or "about me" for all details.

Thanks. I will be on the look out to see if the I-485 changes status online. But I not sure how I can know which office will be processing the application.

Thanks. I will be on the look out to see if the I-485 changes status online. But I not sure how I can know which office will be processing the application.

The online status will most likely update to "we have transferred i-485 AOS to a different office(...)" and then you'll receive a hardcopy in the mail telling which office.

Right now people whose I-485 was transferred to CSC are waiting 7-8 months for approval of their GC. Those who have their case sent to a local office for interview are getting their GC much faster.

I'm at CSC and am a December filer. I expect spiderwebs on the gc when it arrives. :D
