Hi Everyone, Now that our case is at the NVC and we were told it takes 10-20 business days to generate case number, how authentic is that? Also wondering the actual time for case completion at NVC. Any constructive/helpful information would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

Unfortunately, that 10-20 days to get a case number isn't very accurate, unless things have sped up at NVC. It's been taking 4+ week lately (it took a month and two days to get our case number).

Case completion will vary on when you get your case number, when your AOS and IV bills are invoiced and how prepared you are with your I-864 and Immigrant Visa documents. If you have them ready and can submit them as soon as your bills appear as PAID, you should move through NVC fairly quickly.

USCIS:(164 days)
10/07/11 - I-130 Sent
10/09/11 - Delivery Confirmation - Chicago
10/13/11 - NOA1 Confirmation by e-mail & text
10/17/11 - NOA1 Hard copy received (Priority date October 11)
03/23/12 - NOA2 (e-mail notification on 3/23, Hard copy received on 3/30)
NVC: (48 days)
04/16/12 - Case arrived at NVC
04/25/12 - Received case #, IIN, and BIN, gave e-mail addresses, sent optin e-mail
04/26/12 - Submitted DS-261 online (Resubmit on 5/10)
04/27/12 - Received info package and AOS bill e-mails from NVC
05/01/12 - Re-sent Optin e-mail (accepted 5/01)
05/02/12 - AOS bill invoiced & paid
05/03/12 - AOS bill appears as PAID
05/14/12 - E-mailed I-864 package
05/18/12 - AOS/I-864 accepted
05/23/12 - IV bill invoiced & paid
05/24/12 - IV bill appears as PAID, submitted DS-260, e-mailed IV package
06/04/12 - Case Complete
06/14/12 - Interview date & interview package received by e-mail!!!

Medical/US Consulate/POE:
06/26/12 - Medical
07/16/12 - Interview - APPROVED!!!!
07/23/12 - Visa received
07/24/12 - POE (Ambassador Bridge-Windsor, ON/Detroit, MI)

Our immigration journey took 9 months, 1 week and 5 days

ROC:
04/25/14 - Eligible to apply for Removal of Conditions

05/05/14 - Mailed I-751 to VSC via Priority Mail

05/07/14 - Package delivered to VSC

05/14/14 - Check cleared bank account - pending date 05/13

05/15/14 - Received NOA (Receipt date 5/08)

05/19/14 - Biometrics letter received, Notice date 05/16 (appointment scheduled for 06/11)
06/11/14 - Biometrics appointment

12/17/14 - APPROVED!

12/27/14 - 10 year Green Card arrived!

I got my case number in 14 days

I should correct myself. I got my case number 14 days after my NOA2. One day after the NVC received it

NVC received our files 2 weeks after NOA2, and another 2 weeks after that for our case numbers. So, around a month all in all.

As for the case complete, I would say it MOSTLY depends on you. How ready you are with your documents and how soon you can send them to NVC.

10/01/11 - Filed (2) I-130's

10/04/11 - NOA-1

04/05/12 - NOA-2

Your I-130 was approved in 184 days from your NOA1 date.

NVC

04/23/12 - NVC received both cases (18 days/12 business days from NOA-2)

05/07/12 - Case numbers and IIN's (14 days/10 business days since NVC received)

05/07/12 - Sent out DS-3032 by email; auto-response received

05/08/12 - AOS fee invoiced, paid - "IN PROCESS"

05/09/12 - AOS fee shows as "PAID"

05/10/12 - Spouse's DS-3032 accepted; minor child's rejected = had petitioner call NVC = received verbal acceptance from operator

05/11/12 - Spouse's IV fee invoiced

05/14/12 - Daughter's IV fee invoiced, paid both IV fees - "IN PROCESS"

05/15/12 - Both IV fees show as "PAID"

05/16/12 - Sent both AOS and both IV packages to NVC via USPS (expected delivery: 05/19/12)

05/21/12 - All 4 packages delivered

05/30/12 - Received checklist for daughter's AOS

05/31/12 - Sent response to checklist via USPS (expected delivery: 06/01/12); Spouse's case completed

06/07/12 - Daughter's case completed; waiting for interview date

06/14/12 - P4 received: interview date 07/11/12

Embassy

07/04-05/12 - Medical at SLEC

07/11/12 - Interview: APPROVED!

07/14/12 - Visas on hand

POE: 10/17/12

GC's on hand: 10/31/12

As with most time frames it varies. All I can do is strongly advise to start calling a week to two weeks after NVC has received your case. You can call as much as you want. They will not tell you to stop calling, it is your right. They are trained to give an estimated time frame, it is in their script. Use your own judgement. My case was received by NVC three days after email notification. No case number yet, but I call every two days now.
