Hi all,

I sent my I-751 application on April 30th and received a letter dated May 4th saying that they received my application. How long does it generally take the get the NOTICE for the biometrics appointment? I thought I saw that some people got it in less than a week. Is mine over due? My service center is the Vermont Service center. Any help and input greatly appreciated!

Most peoples Bio appointments take 1-2 months after the first receipt notice.

Vermont is VERY VERY VERY behind in ROC applications.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

The biometrics appointment is at your local office/ASC and is not dependent on which service center your petition went to. The local offices/ASCs give the Service Centers "windows" of dates. The letters for bio appointments vary widely, sometimes in a week or two and sometimes a month of more. I would not worry yet. They have your case, you will get the biometrics letter

The only reason why I worry is because I am due to leave the country on July 31st. Should I be worried?

Some people get a bio letter very fast, for others it takes a month or two. I worried as well because I am going to Belarus on June 15. Usually there are 3 weeks between the date you receive the letter and the actual appointment. So you have pleeeenty of time. Don't stress!! Probably your ASC is very busy or serves a big area. I was sent to the one that is much further away than the other one that is close to me.

AOS from B1/B2:

January 12 - I-130 & I-485 Delivered

January 24 - Both checks cashed

January 26 - Both NoAs received

February 9 - Biometrics letter received

February 17 - Biometrics appointment

January 18 - Green Card Ordered (No Interview)

January 22 - Green Card Mailed

Biometrics comes 1-2 months later since the date of the NOA. What I'm saying is the date you receive biometrics and the date you have to go in for biometrics (the actual appointment on the letter) are usually 3 weeks apart. So if you won't receive the biometrics letter by July 10, then you should be worried. You have plenty of time till then and I'm pretty sure you will get your letter by the end of the May. Even if your letter comes after July 10, you can try early walk-in for biometrics.

Thank you for this explanation. This helps a lot. I am hoping it will come soon! :)

For anyone wondering, and reading this post, I received the letter and will be having my biometrics in the first week of June.

Oh yay! Glad to hear this.

Your timeline is very similar to mine.

I also received my NOA early May and my biometrics appt will be first week of June.

Good luck to you and safe travels!
