What exactly happens at that estimated date? Basically what does "adjudicated" mean to our process? Is this the period when someone saunters over to our file and starts working on it? Will I have received any RFEs, if any, before this date? Or will it be after this date?

It means you would have an approval or denial by that time.

It's just an estimate, remember, VJ has no influence over your petition, just because September rolls around and VJ says it's time for your petition to be adjudicated doesn't mean VJ will hop to it

Yes I know that BUT the questions still stands. What happens between now and the estimated date? Does the file just stay docile until that date?

That pic is the best. It will wait patiently in it's little box until it gets picked up to be worked on. the VJ date is an estimate of when that will happen. It doesn't take them long to process the actual individual cases, so once it comes up they look at it a few minutes and then send the response. You'll be approved, denied, or get an RFE sent to you in the mail roughly sometime around that date.
