Hi Egypt.

Don't get discouraged by these naysayers here who have already replied to you.

The best piece of advice anyone can give you here for your situation is to be honest and truthful about your reasons for visiting the moment you apply. Consider applying for a visitors visa and tell the truth "It is the start of a relationship and we just want to visit each other. It could develop into a serious relationship later (or We are very serious) If it does get to the point where we consider marriage, we will consider either a K1 or K3, but right now I just want to see her." If you get denied, what will you have lost? Nothing. But you will not have lied either, which is the worst thing you can do, and the Consular officers see hundreds of liars every day. I don't know why people don't say this.

Here is an example: My brother (U.S. Citizen) met a girl in Thailand. 3 months later he asked her to visit. She applied for the B1/B2 visa AND was able to show that she has a good job in Thailand and that she has a reason to come back. She also told the consular officer, " I met a guy while he visited for 3 months. He asked me to visit him in the U.S. I want to go there for vacation. Yes, we are interested in each other and the relationship could get more serious later. If it does, we will either get married here or there. We aren't there yet."

She got the visitor's visa without any problems, while many others in the room got denied.

The situation is different for everyone, but I think honesty is the best policy.

Good Luck.

You are wrong, and it is very confusing to the OP and other members to give out false information. If you dont know, please dont give advise. The OP has already givin his reason to come to the USA. The US doesnt give out tourist Visa'a to alot of countrys and coming here on a Touist Visa with the intent to marry could result in severe consequences.

It's not an opinion that intent has been expressed...read the OP post again. It is quite clear.

If what you are saying is that you weren't intending to come across as a wink, wink, nudge, nudge response and that was just our opinion of it, than perhaps you should stop winking and nudging and be more clear.

ive been clear and precise with my previous posts... so winking is not allowed here too lol! this is a free country nobody's perfect, not all situations are the same so keep it cool. we're in adjustment of status from working, student, tourist forum right? ya we are just checking making sure im not in the k1-fiance topic

I have no idea what you are talking about.

None of this changes the fact that advising someone wiho has expressed intent to immigrate to just "come on over on a visitors visa" is against TOS.

I'm guessing the person who asked the question just really doesn't know what his options are. He said he didn't want to do anything illegal, and I think we've established that coming here on a tourist visa to get married is illegal.

So what are his other options? Fiance visa or get married in Egypt. Am I missing anything?

Let's get it straight, coming on a tourist visa with intent to marry, that's ok (ie...destination weddings), but coming with the intent to immigrate is illegal. Marrying and immigrating are two different things. However, even if you were coming to get married and not to immigrate (let's say you planned to get married here and return to your country- no intent to immigrate) if a CO knew this, it is highly unlikely you would even be granted a tourist visa as a spouse living in the US would not be showing sufficient ties to the US.

You may wish to consider having her visit you, this will be a lot easier, if the sparks fly and you wish to get married, either apply for k1 to marry here, or get married there and file for cr-1

ok

I have been reading replays, and very grateful

so I guess my option is to see her -as I am not 100% sure we will get married maybe its different in real world- so if we like each others, I go back home and she petition for a k1 fiance immigrant visa ...thats the correct way

the queston is ... what are my chances if I made this clear to the consular and telling him its only a visit to meet her as she cant come to Egypt these days ?

what are my chance for a tourist visa if I was completely honest ???

thank you very very very much guys !!!

correct !

Well I don't know about your chances of getting a tourist visa from Egypt. But, you have to meet her in person before you can do anything else, so you might as well go for it. And yes, real world is very different from online. You could meet face to face and have no chemistry or be disappointed with the relationship. I know it's hard to imagine that, but it's very possible.

I realize it's a different situation, but my husband is from Canada, and we met online. The first time he ever came to visit, he got secondary screening. When they asked why he was visiting he smiled, and said "to consummate my online relationship." They thought it was funny and didn't question his intent again. :P

The Op clearly has immigrant intent. He asked, "can I apply for a tourist visa get married and adjust status." So why are you talking about anything else?

It's in the interpretation.

For whatever reason, you are not able to udnerstand that the OP was asking a question and seeking clarification.

He said "Can I"? He doesn't know so educate him.

If he had said, "I'm coming to the US on a tourist visa and I am going to adjust status" then that will be fraud.

Nobody said the OP was advocating fraud. The OP was asking a question - can I do this? The answer is no - IF you do this it would be fraud. The person advocating fraud is the one saying, "wink wink nudge nudge here is what to say to commit fraud and pretend you aren't."

Exactly...and all of that is old news, case closed and so on...no sense in hashing it all up.

It of course puts everything into a new light now that we know the OP has not even met this person. :)

No idea what your chances of a tourist visa in Egypt are...I don't think this is the right board to find that info as this has to do with the US.

Try to find an Egyptian immigration forum...?

I don't know how difficult it is to get a tourist visa being from Egypt, but I guess you have to take the chance to apply for one.

Read about the embassy.

Get a lot of documentation to show your ties to Egypt: Letter from your employer what kind of position you have and that your are not temporarly employed, lease agreement not cancelled, bank statement, car, insurance for car, etc. whatever you have!

Then try and be honest(!) in the interview. Tell the IO that you met a girl online and that you want to go visit her because it is safer for you to visit her than her coming to you. You want to visit her for xx days and your employer agreed for that vacation time (if you have a statement from your employer about that, great). You also have the funds for the round-trip ticket (get information about the costs online and proof that you have the funds). If the relationship will turn out more serious the two of you will probably apply for a K-1 (you will leave Egypt with the visa to get married in US in 90 days). But this is way in the future, you never met, you need to find out whether you are meant for each other.

The other possibility would be a CR1 meaning you get married and then apply for the CR1. It will be finalized in Egypt, so you have to go back to Egypt for that.

But you never met, so take it slow!

Wishing you luck.

You are reading wrong...he is asking about getting a tourist visa FOR Egypt to visit his Internet girlfriend that lives there. He at this point isn't even talking about a US visa which will pretty much make most of us unqualified to help him.
