CR1 process w/ AOS in the Philippines

Hello VJ,

I am confused about AOS in CR1 process, as what i understand AOS on this process could be done when you arrive in USA?...but when i read the VJ timeline there is AOS to be paid in CR1 process here in Philippines,can someone correct me if im wrong about the CR1 process...

CR1 package sent to Dallas box

then receive NOA 1 & 2

next step will be in NVC

NVC will contact you for the IV payment, this step is so confusing because there is AOS payment include, what is this mean?.

You do the AOS in the U.S if she is arriving on k1 fiance visa but if she is coming on a CR1 spouse u do that process before she gets her interview. if she got approved in her interview she receives her green card automatically few weeks after arrival.

After the NOA 2 your case is sent to NVC; then you need to get a number from NVC after that the choice of agent must be sent, the AOS bill is generatedyou need to pay iit and then the AOS must be sent

NVC - I-864 process known as AOS (Affidavit of Support)

Removal of conditional 2 year green card,,, I-485 process known as AOS (Adjustment of Status)

aos acronym is 2 different things, alas

Affadavit of support (forms I-134, I-864)...

--I-134 filed with Embassy for K-1/K-3 visa

--I-864 filed with NVC for IR-1/CR-1 visa

--I-864 filed with Adjustment of Status case (ie K-1 visa holder marries in usa, files I-485 to adjust status, get a greencard)

or

Adjustment of Status

--K-1 visa holders file this packet set after marriage to a USCitizen, in the USA

--other folk in the USA file this when adjusting from a Tourist, Work, or Student Visa

so - know 'what you are' and 'when to use AOS' , aye?

In General, A CR-1 visa chaser/holder never files an adjustment of status case..

CR1 package sent to Dallas box

I-130 petitions filed by US Citizens for foreign spouses are sent to the lockbox in Chicago or Phoenix (it's based on where the petitioner resides). I-130 petitions are NOT sent to the Dallas lockbox.
