Government position - Abortion is legal.....tanning under 14 is not

MAY 1--A New Jersey woman has been charged with felony child endangerment after she allegedly took her five-year-old daughter into a tanning booth, where the child suffered serious burns.

Patricia Krentcil, 44, was hit yesterday with a felony count approved by the Essex County Prosecutor's Office. She was arrested last week by the Nutley Township Police Department.

The investigation of Krentcil began after cops were summoned to the elementary school attended by the kindergartener, who was in pain due to what appeared to be a severe sunburn. The subsequent probe determined, cops allege, that Krentcil took her child into a tanning booth at a Nutley parlor a week prior to her April 24 arrest.

State law bars children under the age of 14 from using a tanning facility. Investigators contend that Krentcil brought her daughter into a stand-up tanning booth without the knowledge of parlor employees.

Sad thing is that when the mother takes the child/fetus/embro to an abortion clinic....then no charges? I rather get a few burns than a doctor chopping me in pieces!

I would not do either, but that is just me. I do not expect the government to send agents with guns to put people in prison because they have a different opinion than I.

I agree - just making a point as to how backwards government involvement can be.

That is why we need to minimize government involvement in uteruses...and stomachs, backs, hearts, livers, lungs and all the other parts they should keep their hands off of.

A few burns? Ever heard of skin cancer? If you want Mothers to not abort their children, then I would suggest that you start petitioning your representatives in Congress to make services for single mothers are there to help support children of low income families i.e. guaranteed access to health care or access to child care services for children of working parents.

No. We have prisons for that. If you HARM a child you go to prison. Why do you have a problem with that and think we can prevent stupid people from doing stupid things by having a group of rich white men make a law? Shall we make a law against every possible thing which could possibly harm a child? Many more children are killed and maimed by irresponsible parents allowing them to ride bicycles and go to playgrounds.

Yes. If it does not harm the child. Do you wish to pass a law prempting the possibliltiy of any stupid behavior? Who will decide that for YOUR children?

NO. We (the government) is supposed to control the parents behavior from conception and not allow abortion...the child belongs to the state, right? The parent has nothing to say. So you are pro-life, right? Against abortion even for incest or rape? Right? The the government will care for the child from cradle to grave with the parents serving only as monitored employees of the state to care for the state's property.
