hello everyone, I need advice ASAP :(

I filed form I-130 for my husband who was and is currently in our home country (Mexico).

our priodity date is january 19 and our case is being processed at the CSC. If CSC is really taking 5 months to complete the process that will mean that our case will be done june 19 or so, but i doubted.

I am going to visit my husband june 22 i already have my plane ticket and everything ready, I Get a little over two months off from colleg. I want to stay in Mexico for 2 months starting june 22 and coming back around august 20 before classes start. But I dont know if its a good idea or not. I really would love to spend the whole summer with him, but im afraid that I will get something in the mail regarding his case during the time that Im in mexico. If this happens and I do get something in the mail i have no idea how i would respond to whatever USCIS will need from me.

please I need your advice, what can I do? should I start putting everything together before I leave, and start writing hardship letters? since we will be filing a waiver.

What do you guys recommend shoould I stay in Mexico for 2 months? or should I not ? I would really love to....

thanx in advance for your advice...

Of course you can visit! Did you send a completed G-1145 e-notification form with your petition? If so you will get correspondence via email/text. If you are worried you might miss something you can also check your status on the website. If they need something more from you it will be updated on the website and you can call to find out what is requested.

From what I have seen others post, the G-1145 that trojam227 mentions appears to only be good through the time the file is accepted at intake and routed to a service center. Once your file is at a service center, you will need to create an account on the USCIS website and sign up for e-notifications there.

There is no rush to get things done at NVC.

Check in with NVC after you return.

Have a great trip !

whilst yer there, practice filling out the ds-230. I know, I know, I said DS-230,

but at some point, you'll be filling out a ds-260 online - the data points are very similar.

I have been living in mexico for 18 months now. My husband comes to visit every 2-3 months for 10 days. There is no problem with you visiting him or staying the entire summer. Make sure on the USCIS.gov website you register for email and text alerts and that way you will be notified if something does happen. Good luck with your case and enjoy the time with your hubby!!

All the G1145 does is get you and email and/or text notification the petition was received. One must sign up for email updates through the USCIS website to get any further notifications. You only need your case number to do so.

For email, yes.
