Wrong A-no and MSC on page 2 RFE

Hi everyone

Really appreciate anyone's help on this....

I received an RFE on my AOS. I noticed that the alien number and receipt number on page two of the RFE (the only page that states the info they need) is completely wrong. The first page is fine. I am thinking that they sent me the wrong page two!

They are requesting newer tax transcripts and also a medical - which was all done in London but they say they haven't received the paperwork from DOS.

I'm thinking of sending it back. I tried calling uscis but she says they it could be a typo! She said I could send it back though. She wasn't too helpful.

Thanks!

They sent the I correct individual information to you by mistake. They did that to my son and when I pointed it out the teir 2 officer told me that he had no RFE. Check the USCIS website for your MSC # and the one on the RFE and see the status. Speak to a tier 2 officer. Teir 1's do not know any more than you do.

Because of this error, they may send your case to the dreaded CSC for "faster processing". That only means a 6 -7 month wait after transfer. Welcome to the USA. Lol.

I would definitely call back and request to speak to an Immigration Officer (Tier 2). They can actually look at your case, as the person above me said the people in the call center that you speak to first of all know no more than you do.

I think the first Tier people are the same ones I talk to when my internet goes down.

Does the first page of your RFE note the incorrect tax info and the lost medical? If so, I would include those things and send it back. Sending back the RFE with nothing may get your case denied. You only get one chance to respond to an RFE, so I would reply as best I could, not just send the whole thing back and say "oh sorry the 2nd page is wrong."

Sometimes the medical gets lost at POE. It sucks, but you should be able to get a new one for about $200. There is a Civil Surgeon Locator on the uscis website (who is the person who does the medical).

Getting a Tier 2 person may help some, so I would try it, but I would not send the RFE back in with nothing in it.

Thank you all for your input! The first page does not say anything about what info they want. Thats on page 2 and thats the one that has a completely different A-number and MSC.

Its clear that I have an RFE because the website says so too. But I don't what to go through having another medical if that's not even what they are asking for.

I am scared of causing a denial but I was thinking of sending a letter explaining my concerns over the RFE that I have received, also stating facts about when I had the medical etc and also including the tax transcripts... which they can gladly have anyway. But I will try calling again..... even though I think I was forwarded to a tier 2 officer. I think she just couldn't be bothered to help me. Maybe I'll have more luck with the next one!

Don't reply with a letter until you are sure of what they want. Tier 2 officers can talk to you about your specific case. Call back and ask for an Immigration Officer before you reply to the RFE.

Well, I called and got a tier 2 officer. He said to assume that page 2 is correct for me and they'll see if it makes sense when they review it!. He also said to not worry about the medical as I have already had one. When said I was worried about a denial, he said I can explain it in a letter.

So..... I got his name and I will quote that in it. Seems too good to be true but unless something comes up before my tax transcripts arrive, I think I'll give it a go.

Thanks everyone.

They are also going to send a letter regarding the details of your call and the IO's number. They have it recorded. Do as you said you would. When you call they ask you to note the day, time of call and the ID of the person you spoke with. Always get those information when you call. It's important as It can help a great deal in times like these.

Sounds good so far, but regarding the medical, if it is lost, then it's lost. Unfortunately it can happen, so I would expect another RFE to come for a medical, if you don't send it in now.
