I've been calling and emailing like crazy to figure out what's going on here. After a month, the NVC hasn't received my approved petition from the USCIS and have now told me it will take up to 20 days for the research people to locate it. Is this common? Is it really a 20 day wait, or are they just lowering my expectations? I'm annoyed that I have to wait another 20 days for them to locate something that they've lost.

I've emailed my congressman and the local US embassy, but I don't know if I can expect either of them to help me. And I'm getting kind of tired of the NVC people snapping at me before they listen to the situation. Any suggestions?

Yes - we received NOA2 on 3/26 and got a hard copy of the confirmation in the mail with a receipt number.

my stepson's NOA2 to NVC# took about 4 weeks. guess you should have your NVC# anytime soon.

I'm worried that the petition hasn't left the USCIS yet because NVC says they haven't received it as of today.

My wife's approved April 12th, called NVC yesterday, they said they didn't have the petition. I assume NVC lied (cannot imagine taking weeks for shipping piece of paper), may just take them another week or so to enter the petition to NVC system.

it seems like the whole immigration system is slowing down because of the temporary protected status.

I hope so! It's amazing that it takes them so long to move a folder of papers from one place to another. And even more amazing if they were not capable of doing that effectively...

you see, April 14th is a long weekend. They took April 13th and 17th off, 18th still in vacation mood, ended up tons of case when they finally back to work on April 19th. ...

its the federal government and the bureaucracy... but if the topic is about grabbing power, it moves like a lighting speed for them.

My I130 was approved on 3/23 (three days before yours). They said it could take 4-8 weeks to receive it. USCIS has been really unhelpful and rude, NVC at least gives me straight answers. I guess I am in the same boat. I don't know what else I can do. My congressman has nto responded yet.
