Cab drivers in Minneapolis refusing to pick up transgendered people and people carrying alcohol

Personally, I have a little bit more of a problem with the East Africans butchering their women's sexual organs than I do with them refusing alcohol in their cabs.

Well, isn't that the real fear here? People object to their objection because they fear other more drastic changes down the line.

It's not really down the line. They do it in Minneapolis already.

 For reals?

Yeah. They are often heard defending their right to female genital mutiliatation 'round town.

Most cabbies in MN are drunk so this surprises me.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

Senate Floor Speech on Public Debt

Now the question is, how can they tell they are transgendered? Man I have seen a lot of men in my day (who dress as women) that you could NEVER tell they were really men. I think they should not say anything until the end of the ride and say, in a deeper voice, "Hey, thanks for the ride!" lol

A friend of mine is a taxi driver here in Minneapolis (and yes his is Somali, lol), and when my car fell apart a few years back, he would drive me to and from work. Sometimes I would ride along with him and pretend to be a cabbie-in-training, lol. Cab driver's definatley pick and choose who they pick up, at least my friend did. If it was a fare originating in North Minneapolis (for those not familiar with the area, that's considered the

"bad" part of town), he would totally ignore it. And it seemed lots of the driver's did---those requests would come up over and over, unmet.

And we became friends when he drove my friends and I back from the bar, and I was totally drunk. But I guess this is different than airport taxi drivers, because any driver that works downtown mpls. at night is going to have to deal with drunks---and can't be so firm about the alcohol.
