Hi all...

I am Porsha a UK citizen and my husband Knowles is a US citizen. We met in 2001, had a son in 2004 and were married in 2006... He came to live in the UK with me in 2006 and we lived together for two years. Our relationship didn't work out (I think a combination of youth, inexperience and stubbornness) and he moved back to the US.

I met someone else in the UK and had another child, but Knowles and I have rekindled our relationship in 2011 (although we have never divorced) and we are 100% committed to making it work out this time.

My career has meant that I have been hesitant to leave the UK, but I decided that I can't do another long distance relationship with him and I'm handing in my notice this week :o . Due to the nature of teaching I will have to work up until the end of this academic year, but was hoping to be in the US with my husband by the end of this year... Do you think this is a realistic expectation? :huh:

Also another concern that I have is my youngest child, will this impact on our eligibility to apply for the visa? Also, is there another application that I will have to fill out for my youngest?

Hmm...April to December...that is cutting it close but I understand your delima, I teach too.

I assume you have a US passport (if he qualifies) for your oldest son?

The younger one will need to be petitioned as well as have permission of the father to leave the UK

Yea, my oldest son has a US passport.

So my husband should just send the documents together for me and my youngest son? I don't have any contact with his Dad, I don't have a clue where he is... Do you think that would that be a problem?

Is the bio dad on the birth cert and does he have any kind of guardian/ parental/ visitation rights (even if he does not excercise it)? The rules on this vary somewhat from country to country, worst comes to worst you would need to go to court and obtain permission to take the child out of the country if you cannot trace him at all.

Me: Irish/ Swiss citizen, and now naturalised US citizen. Husband: USC; twin babies born Feb 08 in Ireland and a daughter in Feb 2010 in Arkansas who are all joint Irish/ USC. Did DCF (IR1) in 6 weeks via the Dublin, Ireland embassy and now living in Arkansas.

He is, so I will probably have to go to family court and get a letter so that I can. Do you think I will need to have it for the I-130 or at the interview?
